What PJ's Characters Are Seeing and Hearing
To differentiate future characters from their past/present counterparts, I will add the letter F to the end of their first or last names, or use P to differentiate the past/present from those in the future
Percy was starting to get annoyed... again... because he had been walking for hours through an endless fog.
He had just returned from his last mission/quest where he discovered that Egyptian gods exist, and he could have gone to the camp to inform Chiron, but he had decided to have Blackjack leave him on the streets of New York because he wanted some time to think.
He needed to think because he had been trapped in his thoughts about the events of the last year which had not been... easy, because after the war his relationship with his girlfriend was... strained and distant...
Annabeth had focused on her work as architect of Olympus, which caused them to spend less and less time together, Percy was annoyed at first, they had already done a lot for the gods.
But after talking to Chiron because he noticed that Jackson was a little angry, his old teacher (and second father figure, although sometimes he seems to be the main one), had decided to be his confidant; So after talking to the old centaur, Sally Jackson's son could see that Athena's daughter's work in restoring Olympus was her way of dealing with Tartarus.
His girlfriend needed time to heal, just like him.

But the question was, how long?
Percy knew he couldn't complain, especially since he was also still healing and still suffering from nightmares, so his father Poseidon offered to erase his memories of that place, althought it may have been due to a strange pride or unresolved issues with the king of Atlantis, but he refused because he decided to overcome it on his own. His father respect his decision, but healed his body of all the damage he had received from his life as a demigod, although some of the nightmares also decreased.
