Chapter 7: Injuries and Photography
The evening was quite quiet after my brother getting severely hit by Georgia's hit. I could have sworn that she had literally apologised to him a hundred times now. But Georgia, Lewis, Lola, Simon and I followed the ambulance to the hospital to make sure what happens there.
"What the f*ck did I do?" Georgia cried and I rubbed her back in reassurance.
I replied, "Georgia come on, it was just an accident. Anyone could have done that..."
"But I feel so bad now since I did that! Anyone would still be in this situation as I am now!" She exclaimed. It was an awkward drive with Georgia crying; she couldn't stop and I felt quite embarrassed having her when my own brother, Simon, Lola and James in the car. It took 20 minutes to have arrived at our destination.
I fiddled with the baby strands of my hair that became loose from my side braid. My hair was identically like Lewis and Ralph's but only longer and loaded with dirt since I haven't washed it yet. The wait was long in the boring part of the hospital. We took a seat in front of Ralph's temporary room, until the doctor exited his room.
Glancing at them, they asked who were the relatives and Lewis and I stood up. "What is it doctor?" Lewis asked.
"Is he alright?"I asked the lady.
She then sighed and explained, "Mr Brindley has some minor injuries on the tendons of his left leg, the bone is as well broken and also he scraped his left arm."
"What does that mean then...for the time he needs to heal." Lewis nudged.
"He does not need any hospitality here in major terms," She spoke. "I would say he would need to stay at home, use a wheelchair if possible all times or either crutches. I will be prescribing him some strongantibiotics. But overall, I suggest for him to stay overnight here tonight." The doctor explained.
"Thank you doctor," The woman finally wondered off and I sighed in frustration. When I closed my eyes, I felt someone embrace their arms for a hug. I flicked my eyes open to see Lewis cuddle me like a toy.
He smiled down as said, "I missed you little Pip."
"Aw! You wished I did," I joked back and punched his arm lightly. We pulled out of the hug after hearing Simon go 'aww!'. After that moment, we intended to enter into Ralph's room and find him on the bed. I stared at the cast on his leg before greeting him.
"Are you alright now?" I asked him as I walked up beside the bedside table. His facial looks showed that he was awfully tired after the quick surgery they did on him for the past two hours.
Ralph positioned himself to sit as we gathered around. "I'm okay; I am still in pain though."
"You know I am so sorry Ralph, I'm so stu..." Georgia shook her head in shame.
Ralph interrupted her, "It's fine, it was an accident and it could have gone worse than I had imagined. It was definitely better than letting one of my horses getting injured. That would have cost me thousands to get it back into shape." I looked back at Georgia to see her sigh in relief to having my brother approve of her.
"The doctor says you have to stay here for the night." Lewis informed Ralph whilst he walked around the room. He seemed very impatient.
Ralph sighed then and answered, "I'm fine about that, but I'm worried about the estate that's all. I was planning to head down to London to inspect one of the warehouses and stocks but I guess...it's not going to happen when I have a broken leg."After a minute of silence, Simon broke it whilst he studied the little fish tank at the corner of the room. This kind of made me burst out a laugh.
