Aaliyah sighs putting her face on her pillow as Sammy sits on the other side of her bed.
Aaliyah was able to talk to her professor and was told that it was fine since she had completed her presentation the class before and it was kind of stupid of her not to skip. Aaliyah leaves the room in anger, God was telling her that she was in the wrong but she didn't want to hear it. So she goes back to her dorm and tells Sammy the story expecting her to agree with her since Sammy dislikes him only for Sammy to side with him
"I didn't...if your boyfriend made you sleep during the class period, you would lose your kind and-"
"I'm a scholar...and yes maybe I would react the same way...but since I'm not in such a relationship, I can tell you that you overreacted... I think he actually wanted you to rest, and what do you expect, you complain about almost everything in that class...how much he was giving you, how annoying your classmates were, how spiteful he was to you...Benedict was only trying to help you rest since you've been working hard with Mary on that project...so yes you overreacted and yes you are going to apologize to him today"
"What-"
"I know his room number so I'm taking your butt up there to talk to him and say sorry to him before he sobs to James and then James comes to me yelling at me and then I get angry and take it on my art project," Sammy says getting down from the bed and taking away Aaliyah's duvet off her "Come on, let's go apologize to him"
Aaliyah and Sammy walk to his dorm, and Aaliyah sighs before knocking on the door. Minutes later a Hispanic man opened the door, it was Juan, Benedict's roommate. Aaliyah and Juan had met when Benedict invited her to a sleepover multiple times, it was awkward. Juan would be sleeping, his back facing the couple or playing his games, music blasting in his headphones, and trying his best to not mind the giggling couple. Aaliyah felt bad for him, especially when Benedict would kiss her multiple times, in a kind of dissing way to his roommate
"Hey...is Benny here?" Aaliyah asks
"Oh nah...I think he might be at his football practice, the gym, or the cafeteria eating...didn't tell me where he was" Juan replied before looking at Sammy with a smile "Who's she?"
"Oh...this is Sammy my...roommate!" Aaliyah says as Sammy glares at him with a disgusted face
"Alright... anyways you might have to check those three places if he isn't there...call me...you have my number," Juan says before gently closing the door on the two. Aaliyah sighs as Sammy link her hand in between Aaliyah's arm
"I made him upset...the fact that he didn't tell his roommate where he was...it's clear that he doesn't want anyone to know where he went to...I made a big mistake" Aaliyah says as tears gently fall from her face
Sammy sighs "You did something wrong...yes but...I don't think he left because of you...he has his life just like you have yours..."
Aaliyah and Sammy headed first to the football field and found out that football practice was canceled, then they went to the gym, looked for him for about 30 minutes, and then concluded that he wasn't there either, and the last place they checked was the cafeteria, Aaliyah looks for him as Sammy took the opportunity to grab food and leftovers in the cafeteria.
"Have you found him yet?" Sammy asks carrying a green plastic filled with food. Aaliyah shakes her head before sighing "I think he ran away...text James...ask him where he thinks Benny would run to..."
"You have his number too-" Sammy sighs before Aaliyah leaves the cafeteria calling Benedict on her phone and leaving Sammy alone. "I guess I will call him...so much for him not disturbing me today"
Sammy calls James to meet up with her and Aaliyah in front of their dorm and tells him about the fight the couple had before the whole situation.
"Yeah I agree with Sammy...you definitely overreacted"
Aaliyah glares at him "Thanks, I know....I don't need anyone telling me that so many times!"
"I just wanted to remind you how much you screwed up...that poor man is probably sulking his eyes out....and I think it is worse since he didn't tell his roommate where he was going...and he tells his roommate where he is going a lot of times" James saying shrugging his shoulders in response to Aaliyah
"Sammy....please tell me why I told you to call him again," Aaliyah says
"Before you want him to help you find Benedict...you know" Sammy replies taking a sip of her drink and letting Aaliyah sigh
An hour later the search is still on. James joined Sammy and Aaliyah with the search, taking them to places that were only for him and Benedict and yelling his name multiple times before coming back together to head to the next place. The sun was slowly setting and it was slowly getting dark for the girls.
"Why don't we check the library..." James says
"The library? Are you serious...why would he be at the library"
"As much as he skips class...he usually makes it up in the library...he said I shouldn't tell you guys since he thinks that a football freak is in the library because he wanted to skip class... especially since you two...you know"
Aaliyah looks at Sammy "I think he might be at the library...I'll go check..."
"Want us to follow you?"
"No it's fine...it's between him and me...I made a mistake and I don't need anyone with me...thank you for everything you have done for me today...leaving your work behind to help me look for him but...I need to talk to him..." Aaliyah says sighing, walking away and leaving the two alone
"So how was your day..."
"I don't want to talk to you"
"Ouch...even after looking for my best friend with his girlfriend and your roommate?"
"Yes...even after that...plus I'm sure you got chicks left at home..."
"Still back at that shit again love?"
"Love- why did you call me love"
"Because love..." James mocks before walking away as Sammy follows him playfully hitting his shoulder.
