"This is so unfair. I have to write not one, but three vows??" I whine, slumping against Zachary, who was biting the end of a pen. He was writing his vows... in Morse code.
"You dont have to. Just write one for all of us." He says softly, bringing me into his arms. Our wedding was officially two days away.
And yes, Zach and I left the vows for the last minute.
When I asked Callan to give me a teaser for his vows, he said, and I quote. "It has letters that form words that are constructed into a sentence."
I ignored him for the whole day after that.
Atticus had given me the paper he had it written on.. it was in Russian.
They hate me.
"I can't do that.. all three of you mean something different to me. And I have different words for you three also." I say softly, kissing his jaw and neck. He hummed softly, his fingers scratching my back.
"Then just write what comes to your mind.. or improvise it. It's just gonna be us and a few other people." He says softly.
His mother and father were invited, and Rosie was our flower girl. Dante and his wife were coming too. Dante would walk me down the aisle, and their son would be the ring carrier. Milo and Ethan were a must. Milo would be my man of honor.
The twins would be their best women.
It was a small wedding. But it meant a great deal to me. To us.
Four seats were dedicated to the people who are no longer with us. My parents, my sister, and Lee.
His daughter and wife were attending too. When I reached out to them, I was sure they wouldn't agree, but when they did, I felt like crying.
"I'll make a fool of myself up there." I sigh, resting my forehead on his shoulder.
"It'll be fine, sweetheart. I know you can do it. And plus, it's too late to back out now." He chuckles softly, biting my ear softly and continuing to write his vows.
I sigh and get up, going outside into the backyard to finish writing my vows. It was going to be so cheesy, I could already see it.
~~~
I was panicking. My blood was cold, and my sweat was ice. Not to mention the white snow that covered the gardens outside.
My dress was beautiful, it was perfect. However, I, was not.
I hated how I looked. I looked like I got run over. The makeup artist tried reassuring me that it's just wedding jitters and that I looked gorgeous.. but I didn't feel it.
"Baby?" Atticus says softly from behind the door. I freeze and stare at the door. "You in there? Don't tell me you're gonna leave us at the altar."
"Never. I'm just feeling off." I say softly. I had ran everyone out of the room so I could have a moment to myself. I lean against the closed door, listening to him.
"Need me to come show you how beautiful you are?" He says lowly, making my heart skip. I shake my head softly even though he can't see me.
"Just.." I trail off before opening the door and little and sticking my hand out. He couldn't see me and I couldn't see him. He could only see my hand. "Hold my hand.. please."
He says nothing, but I can feel his fingers interlock with mine. I felt his warm lips against my knuckles, his soft whispers tickling my fingers.
In the next 20 minutes, we'll be married.. we'll no longer be four people. We'll be one flesh. Locked together for eternity.
