Callan sat on the couch, cuddling the three-year-old girl who was fast asleep in his arms, her tongue sticking out slightly. I couldn't help but smile at the sight. Ever since Rayne came into our lives, the guys have mellowed out a little, being quieter and gentler around the little stuff. The cat we had adopted a few years ago was now the size of my arm. She had grown up so fast.

And she was obsessed with Cal.

She was lying on the back of the sofa, her tail swiping Callan's face with every wag. He loved her more than anything, though. I stand from the couch and move closer to Callan, making him look up at me with a soft smile.

"Go put her down to sleep when you get up, I'm going to cook." I whisper softly, kissing him gently before straightening up. He licks his lips slightly, looking me up and down.

"How about you just sit on the dinner table tonight?" He says playfully, making me narrow my eyes at him and shake my head, going into the kitchen. Zachary was sitting at the dinner table, doing his work, with a tight line between his brows, indicating that he was stressed or frustrated about something.

I walk over and gently wrap my arms around his shoulders from behind, hearing him groan softly. His hand moved up and swatted away my arms, making me furrow my brows. I try to lean in to kiss his cheek, but he leans away, his eyes not moving from the computer screen. I huff softly and cross my arms.

"Not right now, Brooklyn. I'm busy." He murmurs, his fingers typing fast, his gaze focused and unwavering on the screen. I look at him, slightly annoyed.

"Too busy for your wife to hug you? Wow, how lovely." I say a little bitterly, walking away. I heard him scoff softly, his fingers running over the keyboard of his laptop again. I go back to the living room, losing my motivation to cook. Don't worry, I'll cook a little later. I huff softly and sit on the couch, pulling out my phone and responding to the texts Milo had sent me.

He and Ethan were still together and thriving. They went on a vacation a few weeks ago, determined to visit as many countries as possible before they get married. I couldn't wait for when one of them pops the question. They were currently in Bosnia and Herzegovina, visiting the waterfalls and the fields. They had sent me a ton of pictures, and safe to say, those views and towns are pulled straight out of a fantasy novel.

They had gone to a fair and went to a psychic just for the giggles. Ethan was telling me about how the psychic told them that they would have peace and prosperity, and soon a family of their own.

Then the following text from Milo falls in.

'She said my non-blood sister will have a second child.'

'Take a test right now. Don't play with me.'

I stare at the screen, my heart thumping. I didn't believe in psychics or tarot readers simply because I was raised not to believe them. The idea of it always interested me, though. I realize that it's been a bit since I've had my period. I go to my app and check the loggings, realizing I was almost a week late.

I inhale slowly, realizing it was probably just the irregular scheduling of Miss Crimson. I tell Milo that he's nuts and to go his road, getting cursed out in the process. Footsteps distract me from my screen, making me look up. Zachary had brought his work from the dining area in the kitchen to the living room.

I look back at my phone, seeing that Milo went offline. I grab the TV remote and flip through the channels, turning the volume down a little so as not to bother Zach. Callan comes downstairs and sits beside me, placing his head in my lap before taking the remote and turning the volume up. I hear Zachary huff softly, standing with his laptop and going upstairs. Who pissed in his cereal?
