"Trouble how?" you asked, already moving closer, nerves spiking.
Satoru muttered, finally sitting up. "The Veil thing. Not just for fun. It keeps stuff out—and in."
"So if the Veil broke..."
Toji's eyes flicked toward the window. "And if he didn't come back..."
Satoru stretched his arms overhead with a lazy groan, spine cracking as if this were any other slow afternoon. You stared at him, incredulous.
"He's alone out there," you said. "We need to go—now."
But Satoru just waved a hand. "Yeah, yeah. I know. But it's not that simple."
You blinked.
He lowered his arms and looked at you, and for once, there was a sliver of seriousness behind that usual smirk.
"He used a talisman to teleport," Satoru said. "A cursed one, keyed to a seal he cast himself. Those kinds of jumps are precise. And I can teleport, sure—but unless I know exactly where he is, I could drop us inside an enemy's veil. Or worse—scattered at the border."
You flinched at the implication.
"I need coordinates," he added, tapping his temple. "A sense of his cursed energy. A ping. Something."
You stepped back, frustrated, heart pounding. You hated this.
As if reading your mind, Toji chuckled lowly beside you. "Don't worry so much, sweetheart. He's still alive."
You turned to him, blinking.
Toji shrugged one shoulder. "We're bound. I can still feel his life force."
You frowned. "What does that even actually mean? Feel him how?"
Satoru shifted his weight on one hip." You don't know about a cursed bond? Do you know anything?" He teased.
You scowled as you glared at the blue eyed alpha.
Before you could retort, Suguru began explaining, his tone calm but serious. "Bonds are made through cursed energy and the "soul". They made between two or more individuals. It's a safety system—lets you feel their life force. The stronger the individual, the stronger the bond."
"Each person can hold up to five bonds," Gojo added, winking. "Again, depends on power level. Most omegas carry one or two. Alphas like me—"
You held up a hand. "Alright, I get it. So basically, you all have some weird red string friendship circle—and I'm not in it."
"Sure," Suguru said simply.
Your stomach dropped. "So if it's weakening—"
"Then he's not in top shape. " Toji added casually, "but ehh... he'll live...probably."
