Nanami cleared his throat and adjusted his glasses. "Nothing much. Simply put, we were forced into a position where both of us had to give in to our inner desires."
Silence.
The atmosphere was ice-cold.
You wanted to speak, to diffuse the rising tension, but the weight in the air stole your words. You didn't want to make things worse.
"Nanami," Suguru said, his smile sharp and malicious, his irritation evident. "Come again?"
"I said—" Nanami began, only to be quickly interrupted.
"It was rhetorical. I heard you the first time... Did we not have an agreement?"
Do I hear a hypocrite?
Satoru rolled his eyes and leaned back in his chair. "Don't be a hypocrite, Suguru. Should I bring up the hot springs?"
Suguru shrugged, his smirk unfaltering as he leaned back and rested his elbow on the arm of his chair. "What of it?"
"Was there a free-for-all on our omega?" Sukuna growled, his tone dripping with annoyance as he leaned forward, crimson eyes gleaming with irritation.
"Seems to be that way," Toji muttered, his dark gaze narrowing as it flicked between Suguru and Nanami.
Nanami sighed deeply, adjusting his tie as he glanced between the alphas, now glaring at each other like they were moments away from tearing into one another. The tension grew suffocating, leaving no room for pretense or subtlety.
"It's not the same thing, Satoru," Suguru said smoothly, his smirk still in place, though his dark eyes gleamed with sharp warning.
Satoru let out a low laugh, crossing his long legs as he slouched further in his chair. "Oh, really? So sneaking off to a hot spring with our soon-to-be mate isn't the same as what happened between her and Nanami? Please, enlighten me."
Suguru's smirk grew, his confidence unshaken. "It's called bonding, Satoru. Something you wouldn't understand since you spend more time trying to flaunt yourself than actually connecting with anyone."
"Bonding?" Satoru echoed, scoffing. "That's what we're calling it now? What were you bonding over, Suguru? Steam temperatures?"
Nanami cleared his throat again, but his attempt to redirect the conversation was futile.
"Enough," he muttered, though his voice was lost in the crossfire.
Suguru, undeterred, leaned forward slightly, resting his chin on his hand. "What's the matter, Satoru? Jealous you weren't invited?"
