You woke up gasping for air, chest heaving up and down rapidly. The vision of your white ceiling greeted you first in the morning. You felt tears running down your cheeks as you reached up for water.

. . .Not that dream again

It had been a few days since you first had that dream-like vision. You called your family and asked about their experience but they never had those like yours before. Normally, Onmyoji would need to use their Onmyodo skill to read the future. On the other hand, your visions kept appearing in dreams where you couldn't control. Not to mention, they were getting worse and worse.

You would see glimpses of your friends being killed or used. Since you didn't use Onmyodo, you couldn't say whether these were for the future or just your nightmares. You wishfully hoped that they would be the latter. The scenes of Haibara's dead half body in the morgue, Nanami's body being destroyed, Ieiri-senpai working herself to death, Geto-senpai making the alternative path that led him to die in the hands of his best friend, and finally ...

Your fingers grasped the blanket in agony, "why should Senpai die too? He even had to kill Geto-senpai. As if that wasn't enough, why-"

Tears were streaming down uncontrollably. Breaths came laboured. Your bottom lip was close to bleeding because of how much you bit down on it. Why should all your loved ones be killed off? Who did this? What caused this? No matter how hard you tried to run away from those dreams, you couldn't seem to get far enough.

Taking another mouthful of water, you looked at the clock. It was still early for school but you didn't dare to return to sleep again.

Changing into your sportswear, you went for a jog. Closing the main door of the dorm as quietly as possible, you charged toward the lake. You were getting better at using your fire powers in water due to your daily practices after morning runs.

Flames engulfed you as you began your practice. Water was practically cooler in the morning so you had to maximize your output. Fierce fire quickly evaporated the water it touched. Before you could dive deeper, you felt the curse energy of a person.

"I was wondering where all the water went."

"Ume-sensei. Good morning", you awkwardly looked around, "I am sorry, was I supposed to ask permission for this?"

"It's fine, no one really cares about the lake. Just try not to burn the trees", she walked near to the shore.

"I won't! Don't worry."

She studied your flames before a question came, "Is this because of the loss?"

You nodded at her, "That, and I also need to improve on my skills. Did my sister contact you again?"

This time, she nodded, "She told me that you called home about having precognitive dreams and so she wanted to make sure you aren't going 'nuts', in her words. Do you want to tell me about it? I won't tell her if you don't want me to."

Seeing your hesitance, she moved a step closer, "I lost my husband and our child last year's mission. I still have nightmares about losing them over and over."

Her feet dipped into the water, "I don't know about precognitive dreams but nightmares won't go away if you keep them inside."

When you toned down the flames, she gave you an appreciative smile, "No one's here. You can tell me if you want."

Your eyes warily found hers. Her sympathetic expression was enough for you to open up all your nightmares.

"Thanks for telling me, Yamazaki-Chan. I understand that it's a lot for you", her hand patted your back in comfort.
