"Yamazaki-Chan, cheer up! We still have next year for payback."

Haibara was kind enough to pat your shoulder gently when you sat sulking by the window.

"That's right. We will kick those Kyoto gang's butts next time", Ieiri leaned over the desk to pinch your cheek lightly.

"For the record, the outcome of the team battle isn't on you", Nanami chose to lean against Haibara's chair.

A small smile appeared on your lips when all your friends were trying to console you, "I know, I know. Thank you really. But still-"

"No buts! You have sulked enough over it."

"I can't imagine how much you would overthink about it once Gojo-senpai knows."

You groaned and slumped over the desk. Ieiri shot a glare at Nanami's comment which made him shift awkwardly.

The Tokyo team visited Kyoto for the annual Goodwill event two days ago. Even though the Tokyo team won the individual battles, you all lost in the team battle. It wasn't like you were lacking in team play. It was more of the Kyoto team's strategic planning against your team's weaknesses.

The team battle was to collect flags from the opponent team. You were lured to the water area and got dragged into it. While two members were stalling you, the others were left open without your ranged fiery attacks, breaking the formation. The outcome was a victory for the Kyoto team.

You were unsatisfied about yourself for falling for the predictable bait. After just getting back from Kyoto, the teachers went back to their own office to make a report so you all were basically free for the rest of the day. A sudden phone call jolted you from your deep thoughts.

"Oh, it's my sister. I'm going to take it", you showed them your screen as you said so.

"Take a break, you need it", Ieiri nodded at you.

"Yamazaki-Chan, tell your family we say Hi", Haibara waved cheerfully.

Sending back a small smile, you leaped over the window ledge and jogged into the treelines.

Only when you were out of their sight, Nanami spoke out, "I guess, coming from a generation of Jujutsu clan isn't easy. Just one failure and they are making phone calls."

"Now that Nanami mentioned it, Yamazaki-Chan's family requested Ume-sensei to send her scores directly to them", Haibara turned back to look at his friend.

"All of the Jujutsu clans are tough. Just a few steps difference in how much", Ieiri leaned back in her chair.

"Do you come from the Jujutsu clans as well, Ieiri-senpai?"

"Thank god no", she paused a bit to recall the previous incident, "I saw the current head of the Gojo clan come to visit Satoru last year. I didn't know what I thought it would be but I certainly didn't think they would come so close to fighting."

Seeing their curious eyes, she continued, "We all know our Gojo is with his missions. He and Geto were never the ones to follow the rules of missions. If they find another way to solve the problem safely, they would take the risk. Even though that mission took a longer time, the outcome was clean and no one got injured. It should be counted as a victory but the Gojo clan head didn't like the way they took longer than the estimated time."

"I have never seen Gojo so cold and distant to anyone. Just one look into those icy eyes got me to stand still. Geto got there in time to pull apart his friend and we never saw the clan head again after that", she finished with a sigh, "but every now and then, I would hear Gojo's phone ringing and he just shut it off without a second thought."
