Chapter 10

The weather was cold with showering snow so students opted for indoor activities. Voices can be heard from the library. Since the school lacked manpower, there was no one acting as a librarian to scold the students for being loud. It wasn't like there were any other people for them to disrupt anyway. The group occupied the table nearest to the heater. The reason why everyone was in the library was just one thing—the upcoming final exam of the year.

Although the exam itself was simple, nothing was THAT easy in Jujutsu society. One had to prepare everything. To get a pass, you can either demonstrate a skill impressive enough for your teacher or defeat a curse a grade higher than you. If you could solely take it down, you would also get promoted.

"Guyssss, I am bored", Satoru drawled his words with a stretch.

"No one asked you to come along, Satoru", Geto didn't even look up from the page he was reading.

"You can go take a nap if you want, Gojo", Shoko suggested from your left side.

"And, be alone by myself? You guys are too mean", he scoffed and turned to you, "Bunny, let's go to the crepe shop from last week."

"I want to, too, Satoru-senpai. But, I have to get this right first", you offered him a sympathetic smile, "Maybe after school?"

Closing the manga book he was reading, he shifted closer to your right side, "Have you decided what you will do for the final?"

"I want to beat the Grade 2 curse and be promoted!"

"Is that why you are reading this strategy book?"

"I'm getting too used to fighting with a team so I have to prepare myself for the solo fight."

Satoru noticed your right hand squeeze something in your palm.

When Geto finished the page, he glanced at you and Yu. "So, there are two of you, preparing for promotion then."

"Yes, we are! We can't always leave Honey to carry the burden. When the three of us become Grade 2, it will be easier for him", Yu grinned widely.

"I thought we were done with that nickname", Kento only rolled his eyes when you two shook heads with a "Nope!"

"What about you, Geto-san? What did you all do last year?", Yu's attention was back on the older boy again.

"Since Satoru and I were already S-Grade and Shoko is a rare RC user, we just demonstrated new skills. We are planning to do the same this year, too."

Kento, who also chose this option, joined in, "Do we fight against curses for the demonstration?"

"No, it was only with teachers last year. If you are choosing an offensive skill set, Yaga-sensei will monitor you. If it is a support or passive kind, Ume-sensei will assist you"

"What about those grumpy third and fourth-year teachers?", you murmured with suspension.

With a knowing look, Shoko patted your head, "They watch over the ones who chose promotion."

Simultaneous whining came from you and Yu.

"I don't think they like us much."

"'Like'? Yu-kun, they always give us mean looks after that joint mission."

"Oh yeahhh, why do they dislike us anyway? We even saved the third-years."

"Something of ego, probably?", Kento quietly snorted.

"What kind of new skills are you going to demonstrate, Geto-san?"

"I still have to polish the skill more but it's about using the skills from the curses I had consumed."
