Dustin carefully slipped the paper from the bird's talons and used a single hand to open it. Unwraveling the note, he read on in silence. I inched a tad closer and began to read over his shoulder.
'The legends say that the Treacherous One will do anything to get her in his hands. And that would mean the fall of our kingdom, Theirone. You must keep her safe if she is starting to awaken her powers and destiny for Theirone. Bring her to the palace so I can see if she is truly the-'
I blink and took a step back in surprise as Dustin crushed it in his hand and looked over his shoulder at me. "You weren't supposed to read that...." He said his voice steely. I frown at him and move to where I was in front of him. "Hmph, it's talking about me isn't it?" I said, the hawk flying off to find some food. He just kept his face like stone.
I grabbed the letter from him quickly and ran off towards the forest. I heard Dustin shouting my name and coming after me. I glanced over my shoulder to see him starting to catch up on me.
"Swiftarrow!" I call out as I ran, the whinny from the unicorn came to me and I was promptly tackled by Dustin. We wrestled on the ground for a few moments before Dustin finally had me pinned to the ground, my wrists in one hand. I blew hair out of my face as he was trying to pry the letter out of my hand.
"Dammit..... Let go of the letter already Roe!" He growled, but I still refused to let go. "I'm not going to let go of the letter!!! Swiftarrow!!!" I shouted Swiftarrow's name but got a hand over my mouth. I squirmed beneath him as much as I could, but that wasn't much...
I heard the beating of hooves approaching us. The letter was finally yanked out of my hand just as Swiftarrow came. I heard him snort, pawing at the ground. Dustin got off me quickly as Swiftarrow jabbed his horn towards him. I sat up and patted his muzzle, shooting Dustin a look. "Good boy..." I told Swiftarrow, clearly annoying Dustin.
Swiftarrow snorted suddenly and backed up, shaking his head as if something was whispering into his ear. "It's time for the ride.... Ride on..... Ride on...." A voice whispered before vanishing. Swiftarrow bucked and kicked out at the air before spinning around and galloping away. It wasn't long until I realized Dustin had pulled me away from Swiftarrow when he did that.

"We're going on a small trip now... And you are to not leave my sight!" Dustin said, reaching for my hand as he pulled me away.
