I heard my name being called, softly at first but soon growing louder. "Roe... Roe.... Roe...!" I turn my head and open my eyes slowly, my vision blurry for a moment before becoming clear.
I was in a room, the walls wooden. From my view I could see a window with the curtains pulled over it, making it look dark. There was a side table beside the comfy bed I was in, a lamp on it and lit up. I hear my name being called again, feeling someone sit down on the bed beside me and put their hands on my shoulder. I blink my eyes again and swallow before turning my head to see a very concerned looking Dustin looking into my face.
I could see him sigh with relief when I told him to not try anything with me. My throat hurt a little, but it felt good to talk again. "Thought I lost you there, it's been several hours since you passed out. It's already night." He told me, brushing some hair out of my face gently. I stare at him, not sure what to say for a moment. I then blink and lift my hand up to grab his hand. He let me grab it and I just held it, just to be sure I was alive.
"What happened...?" I asked him, pulling his hand to my cheek and just holding it there. Dustin let me do that and shifted slightly before responding. "Den took your energy, too much which caused you to pass out. Den then used your energy to change forms." He said, squeezing my hand for a moment before continuing on. "I carried you into the cottage and to this spare room. I've been watching over you and taking care of you since then. And now here we are." He said, starting to pull his hand free. I keep a firm hold on his hand, refusing to let go. He looks at me and I look back at him.
I start to sit up, Dustin protesting that I stay laying down but I don't listen to him. As I sat up I begin to get dizzy, but I try to fight it off. I fall forward from the effort and Dustin sets me back down on my back carefully. I blink several times before the world came out of darkness once more. Dustin pulled the blankets closer to me since I had pushed them set when I tried to sit up. I wrapped my arms around one of his arms, making him fall over me but not on me. His hands were on either side of my head, his eyes were wide with surprise and was blushing. I just looked back at him before speaking. "Stay with me until I fall asleep...." I said quietly. His gaze softened and he lowered his head, giving my forehead a kiss. I didn't bother to shoo him away or hit him for some reason, perhaps it was just me having my energy drained.
Dustin moved a little until he was laying right beside me, letting me cuddle up with him. I roll over to where I faced him. He moved some more hair out of my face gently, pulling me a little closer and then giving my head another kiss. I rest my head against his chest and close my eyes, I heard him whisper something to me but I didn't hear as I fell asleep in his arms.
I heard barking outside and opened my eyes slowly. Sunlight poured in, but the curtains prevented the sun from blinding me. I slowly push myself up to find that I was alone. I looked over to the door and found it ajar. I see a fresh pair if clothes on a chair near the bed, apparently laid out for me. I slip out of bed, careful to not get dizzy but I felt way better than from last night. I stripped from the clothes I was wearing and changed into the fresh clothes. I walk out of the room quietly, not bothering to put on my boots. I walked down the hall, putting a hand on it as I walked.
Everything was quiet, at least inside it was. I found the living room to my right once I had reached the end of the hallway, the kitchen to my left. I walked to the living room. It had a fireplace, a couch that was in front of a window, and two plush chairs facing the couch, both chairs pressed against the wall.
I walked over to the couch and stood on my knees as I looked out the window, my back facing the chairs. I didn't even notice Dustin walking up behind me.
"The mornings are always pretty... But afternoons are pretty as well." He commented, stopping behind me and causing me to jump. I turned around, sitting on my legs now as I faced him. "Yeah.... I guess.... The forest looks so pretty here." I replied, looking over my shoulder. I felt him sit down beside me, though I kept looking over my shoulder. After a while I spotted something blue dart past the window. I blink and move from where I was to standing on my knees again, looking out the window. I had forgotten Dustin was there for a moment until he put his hands on my waist and pushed me away a little, but not enough to push me off the couch or him.
