I paced back and forth as hundreds of fairies dart from place to place, too busy to notice me even though I'm easy to spot. I guess starting here was a bad idea after all, I thought. Maybe I shouldn't even be here. Soon a boy pixie came flying towards my direction, a sparrow man is how they call a male fairy by the way. He had blond hair and sky blue eyes and is incredibly dusty with pixie dust. I mean, of course every fairy sparkles with pixie dust but his is unusually dusty and sparkles more than a average Never fairy.
"Fly with you, I'm Terence, a dust-talent fairy" the sparrow man(fairy) said with a smile.
"F-Fly w-with you, I'm Lilianna. Or you can just call me Lily" I said and stuttered at the same time. Still not getting use of saying these greetings in the rules of fairy manners. I noticed that Terence also have a charming sparkly smile.
"Mother Dove wants to meet you. And I'm in charge of taking you to her, don't worry, it won't be long. She's close to the pixie-dust mill, so it will only take us one minute to get there" Terence said and sprinkled some fairy dust on me.
As the fairy dust settled on me, tingling my shoulders and to my toes, before I know it, I was flying. My feet lifting slowly off the ground leaving me floating in the air like a astronaut on the moon. I frantically waved my arms like a newborn baby bird, and somehow turned myself upside down, my hair dangling.
"Um, a little help here!" I shouted at Terence, who was flying already and stopped to turn around and look at what I was doing.
"Whoops, I forgot to teach you how to fly" Terence apologized. "Just put your feet together and stretch out your arms out like this, yeah that's it!"
"Now how am I suppose to move around in the air?" I asked, floating in the same spot.
"Just push your sides like this" Terence said and gestured.
I watched him, imitating the same movement. Hmm.... this isn't so bad. I pushed myself, getting higher and higher, laughing as I go. Then I did a flip and cartwheeled across the blue sky. Unfortunately, I crashed into a bush instead of landing down perfectly on two feet. Okay...let's just practice on the cartwheel later. I flew back towards the sparrow man, who frowned at me, annoyed because I was wasting his time.
"Ahaha-ha-ha.....ha?" I laughed nervously with my hand behind my head and glanced at Terence.
He lifted one eyebrow, as if only that was his answer and fluttered off, leaving me trailing behind him silently. I gazed around, amazed how the view was wonderful as we got closer and closer to a tree. The pixie-dust mill sat all the way below, like a small hut, and the tree where we were heading to was just exactly the size a tree would look like back home. And speaking of home........does Damian know where I am? Does Dad and Mom worried that I must've been kidnapped? My heart grew heavy at the thought. And I started to feel a bit guilty. And, should I even come back? I brushed my thoughts away and convinced myself that it'll be alright. After all, the answer will speak for itself right? We started to settle down on some of the branches of the tree where I noticed a shimmering white dove sitting in its nest. Mother Dove?
"Hello there Lilianna" the bird cooed.
Wha...? Is this bird really talking to me?
"Mother Dove?" I asked shockingly confused.
"Please do not be surprised, it's me that you have been wondering about on the way, right?" Mother Dove said.
"How did you know that?" I asked.
"Well I'm Mother Dove, the most wisest and magical creature of all" Mother Dove said.
Right! I forgot! I blushed, embarrassed of my behavior earlier.
"By the way, this is the hawthorn tree that you're in right now" Mother Dove said.
"I suppose you haven't met my friend Beck, have you?"
Mother Dove lifted up her right wing revealing a fairy wearing a leaf hat with a berry on top and loose braids laid on the front of her shoulders.
"Hey, you're the Clumsy girl that I've heard about with 'special' powers!" Beck exclaimed.
"I don't understand when you say 'special'" I said.
"Let's just say that Mother Dove will take care of the rest of the talking" Beck said, making up her mind of not telling all the details.
Mother Dove chuckled softly and smiled.
"Lily, you've got a special and unique power that can communicate with Never fairies and the knowledge of understanding one of our personalities and talents. That's why Tinkerbell was attracted to you when she visited in the mainland with Prilla. Tink felt that you were special, and when I say special, I mean like extraordinarily special," Mother Dove said, her eyes twinkling with interest.
"Is Tink the only fairy who first knew that I was phenomenal?" I asked, wondering why it was only Tink. I mean like, Mother Dove should've known that I had a certain power.
"The reason why Tinkerbell was really into you is because you are part of the Darling family, which also means Wendy and her daughter Jane are basically your great, great, great grandmothers a long time ago. Even without the necklace, the kiss is what they call it, you still have visions of Neverland. That explains why you are so extraordinary. But what made you more rare is because you are the only last young descendent of the Darling family."
