The Secret World of the Never Fairies

Chapter Four

Now what? I thought. I opened my eyes and felt the dizzyness coming from my head. And where am I?

I viewed my surroundings and saw tall dark fuzzy green pine trees and slick palm trees encompassed me as a red and blue parrot glided through the blue sky. Someone shambled behind me and I jerked around.

"Amanda! Thank goodness you're alright!" I said in relief and hugged her.

"Where are we?" Amanda said in confusion, rubbing her eyes, slightly dazed.

"We'll find out sooner or later," I replied and helped her up. I was happy of not beeing alone.

We both began to push aside leaves and weeds out of the way and finally found a clearing of a beach. White tan sand glowed in the bright sun and the waves rolled in the ocean, their white foams like a monster mouth forming up and down repeatedly.

"I think were on an island," Amanda said picking up a pebble and threw it across the ocean.

"Hold on a second" I said. This place! I've once saw it in my dreams before. Magical and mysterious....

"This must be Neverland! I'm sure of it!" I told Amanda.

"How'd you know for sure?"

"Because I remembered it in my dream before. I know this kind of sound strange but its true."

"Speaking of Neverland, I..." Amanda paused.

"What is it?" I asked.

Well,I'm sorry I didn't say this earlier but I did saw one of the two fairies before" Amanda said with her head down.

"You mean, Tinkerbell and Prilla?" I asked in surprised.

Amanda nodded sadly. "I just wasn't sure if I wanted to tell you or not. I thought you would laugh at me so I said nothing."

I smiled. "I thought of the same thing too."

Amanda looked up at me. "Really?"

"Yeah, I even saw the two fairies too, honestly."

Amanda stared at me for a moment then laughed. I laughed along and it made me felt better. I knew that I could trust my best friend. I really need to work on not being doubtful sometimes. There was no reason to be upset.

"I guess you can also tell that we're in Neverland because of looking at the second star to the right, right?" Amanda mentioned. 

I nodded. "And this ought to be Beach Cove I bet."

We went back into the jungle forest finding a place to stay safe. We both saw extraordinary things as we venture in the undiscovered jungle. First a remarkable hairy lizard, a tiffen, the Paula butterfly, which I've heard is the biggest butterfly in Neverland, and a Never fairy's seedpod cap.

"Stop" Amanda said raising her hand to alert me.

"Don't you see it?"

"See what?" I questioned impatiently.

"That" Amanda pointed to a hollow tree, one big red mushroom with white polka dots on it sat next to the tree.

"Look Amanda, we don't have time to—" I said with my arms crossed.

"SURPRISE!" shouted a boy with red hair and freckles, turned upside down. His face about three inches from mine.

I shrieked and stumbled backwards. The boy started laughing at me, tears streaming from his cheeks.

"You've could've seen.... your face!" he said while laughing at me.

There in front of me was Peter Pan. I expected him to look a bit younger but he looked more like a fourteen or thirteen year old boy,who knows? In this magical island, no one ever grows up.

At first I thought it was kind of rude when he laughed at me for screaming outloud but after thinking about it, it did seem pretty funny after all.

I grinned, blushing and said," I guess I did looked silly."

"Let me introduce myself, my name is Peter Pan, and I am the best ever was!" Peter Pan said boastfully.

"Pleased to meet you, Peter, my name is Lily" I said in my fake accent voice and curtsied.Then I giggled.

Peter smiled gratefully then looked puzzeled,"What's so funny?"

"Oh, nothing" I said through giggles and laughs. I was pretending how a "London" girl would address to Peter Pan in Neverland, like Wendy and Jane.... I think.

Amanda's face went red. "I-It's a pleasure t-to meet you," she stuttered.

What's with her? I wondered.

"And your name?" Peter asked.

"Amanda", she replied, trying to find her confidence voice while she was speaking.

"Okay then," he began and started flying in the air. "I'll go get the Lost Boys, we really need to make a place for you both to stay."

"Why look for them?" Amanda asked.

"We were playing hide-and-seek" he said and flew off.

Amanda stared at where "P.P" left and then abruptly told me,"Oh yes! I was about to tell you that were at Peter Pan's hideout."

"Really?" I inquired.

She nodded and touched the bumpy tree, gazing up at it's branches.

"Let's go inside" I said.

 "No, not yet!" Amanda exclaimed, "Let's just explore somewhere else 'til Peter comes back."

So off we went to explore Neverland. Things went really quickly lately I thought,  kind of.
