"Mom! Natalie won't let me borrow the controller!" My annoying 9 year old brother hollered. I stuck my tongue out at him before slamming the door shut. Mom can't do anything about it since he destroyed his controller and he can't make me lend my own controller.
"Ask nicely!" I hear our mom answer and I snort, my ear to the door. Hearing him suffer is music to my ears.
"Natalie, my dearest sister, can I borrow your PS3 controller?" I hear him mock a sweet voice, loud and clear; especially for our dearest mother.
"Travis, my dearest brother, yes you can but you may not. No" I answer with the same sickeningly sweet voice before reshutting the door on his face. I hear him growl and kick the door whilst I stifle my laugh.
I hear him stomp down the hall and into his room before the bang of his door closing. I smirk and pick up my phone from my bedside table and being surprised by a text message. The only people who text me are my parents and Sarah. I'm very antisocial.
'Get ready. I'm picking you up in 10 minutes' -unknown number
I frown. But I don't want to go out. I literally just came home from school, I was planning on sleeping or maybe binging on Netflix. Either way. I remember the rules and glare at my phone. How did Nathan even get my number? I don't remember giving my number to him or anyone but Sarah for God's sake.
I make inhumane whale noises in protest before walking to my closet. I'm rewearing my skinny black jeans and just putting over a red sweater with white skulls on it. I tie on my sneakers and check my phone.
Are you serious right now? That took only 3 minutes?
I cuss out before jumping on my bed and deciding to tell Sarah, even though she probably can't respond. Her last text was about how her mom was capturing her phone so 'she could spend more valuable family time'.
After a few minutes, I hear the beeping of a car which sends me walking very slowly down the staircase and out the door. I don't bother telling my mom I'm leaving because she trusts me too much. The beeping gets impatient and I smirk before I open the door fully to flip Nathan off but my eyes widen when I see JD instead.
"Hurry up! Nate's waiting!" He says rudely. I nod and walk faster to the car. Where is Nate? I open the car door and get in. My thoughts on not speaking for the whole ride so he wouldn't recognize my voice and avoiding all contact. Where are we even going?
His driving speed was really fast and I was enjoying, my grip in the side of the car tightened as I fought the smile on my face.
"Too fast for you?" He smirks, probably noticing my tight grip
"That's what she said" I mutter under my breathe, hoping he didn't hear so he wouldn't know how polluted my mind is from all the smut I've been reading. He burst out laughing, he heard it. I am seriously horrible at discreetness.
"I like you, you're a lot more fun than Serena and Mandy combined. Well fun in a different way" he points out and the smile of my face vanishes when he finishes but I nod nonetheless.

"FYI, I hate you" I glare at Nathan. If it wasn't for him and being social, I wouldn't be at this stupid amusement park. Okay, maybe it's not stupid but it is if it's with this idiots. Correction: idiots. JD, Serena, Elton and Jack was here too. Jack's the captain of the basketball team, which explains why he's the tallest."Well, don't let them hear you or the jig is up and your picture goes everywhere" he says and I groan.
"I don't even understand why I have to stand as your girlfriend" I say, looking at JD and admiring how his jaws flex.
"I'm helping you land a date with JD" he shrugged carelessly and I stare at him blankly. This is probably the worst plan of being cupid.
"You're an idiot. This will never work then" I turn on my heel only to come face to face with a very hard wall. I nearly fell if the wall hadn't brought out its arms and steadied me. The wall turned out to be James' hard chest. I'm mentally swooning.
"Breaking up with Darling Nate already?" He chuckles, our faces so close to each other. If I stood up on my tiptoes, I could easily press my lips to his but I didn't. I never had the chance too because Nate took my forearm and pulled me away. Again, curse you Nate.
"Let's get on a ride" he suggested as if I wasn't just inches to kissing my crush. Hmm... Thanks a lot Nathan. I nod in agreement and don't bother looking back to JD. Once we're out of earshot, he gives me a look.
"Please don't tell me you were inches from kissing him" he reads my mind and I give him a small smile. "Pray tell, Nat, why do you like JD so much?" He asks whilst we cue for the boat that swings back and forth.
"I- it's kind of a long story? A-and how can I trust you?" I pout and he grins.
"I'm your NaterPotater" he uses my old nickname for him when we were really close.
"Back when you valued our friendship more" I brought up accidentally, it just kind of slipped. His smile dropped and I actually felt bad.
"I'm sorry I-"
"Oh look, we're next in the cue" he interrupts before grabbing my hand and entering through the gates.
