{Nandini's Room}
[The soft glow of the evening sun filtered through the half-drawn curtains, casting a warm yet melancholic hue over Nandini's small but organized room. The air carried a tense silence, broken only by the faint rustling of papers as Nandini flipped through Manik's reports on her study table. Her expression was unreadable, but her slightly trembling fingers betrayed the storm brewing inside her.
Navya, perched cross-legged on the bed, observed her friend intently, her gaze sharp yet gentle. Nandini could feel the weight of Navya's scrutiny but chose to focus on the reports, waiting for Navya to speak first. Minutes passed, and the silence grew heavier, pressing down on them like an unspoken truth. Finally, Nandini couldn't take it anymore.
She turned toward Navya, her expression exasperated, and raised an eyebrow.]
Nandini: (with a sigh) Just say it already. Whatever's on your mind, get it out.
[Navya smirked, leaning back against the headboard, her arms crossed as though she had been waiting for this moment.]
Navya: (teasingly) Oh, I don't have any questions. But I'm pretty sure you have a lot to say.
[Her playful tone pierced through the thick atmosphere, bringing a flicker of annoyance—and understanding—to Nandini's face. Navya's teasing smile made it clear she was hinting at Manik.
Nandini sighed again, her shoulders slumping as she set the files down. The faint thud echoed in the quiet room.]
Nandini: Navya, first of all, I'm sorry. I know I've hurt everyone, including you. You've always been there for me, stood by me through everything, and yet this time... I pushed you away too.
[Navya's smirk softened into a warm smile, her voice brimming with affection.]
Navya: There she is—my stupid Nandu is back. But enough with the apologies. Let's skip to the part where you spill the juicy details.
[For the first time in days, Nandini's lips curved into a genuine smile. Navya's unwavering support was a balm to her bruised heart.]
Nandini: I'll tell you everything, but you have to promise me something.
[She turned to Navya with an intense gaze, her eyes searching for trust.]
Nandini: Promise me you won't tell anyone. Especially Cabir.
[Navya's jaw dropped in exaggerated offense.]
Navya: Excuse me? Why on earth would I tell him?
[She placed a hand dramatically over her chest as if mortally wounded by the accusation. Nandini couldn't help but laugh at her theatrics.]
Nandini: (laughing) Don't act so innocent! I already know everything. Cabir told me about your confession.
[Navya froze, her face turning serious as a shadow of vulnerability flickered across her features. Her usual cheer dimmed, replaced by uncertainty. Nandini noticed the change immediately.]
Nandini: Don't worry, Navya. He'll come around. I know he feels something for you too.
[Navya's eyes widened in surprise, searching Nandini's face for reassurance.]
Navya: (hesitantly) You really think so? Do you think Cabir... likes me?
Nandini: (smiling knowingly) As much as you think Manik is the best thing for me.
