A couple minutes passed by and I was still fuming. I had finished my hair, curled it to hopefully perfection, and I had added a bit of makeup to look "presentable". My self looked back at me as I stood in front of the mirror. I looked like I was going to a stuck up modeling event, not a wedding rehearsal. My feet ached from the high heels, I didn't mind wearing heels, but they weren't my favorite.

I extremely dislike the open toed ones. I hate that people can see your toes and your feet. I always feel like they are judging if I haven't painted my toenails or cut them. Something about feet just freaks me out, I have no idea why.

What made me madder, was the fact that downstairs, Matthew was having a nice little chat with my mother. I could hear their voices. When I agreed to the fake girlfriend thing, I didn't intend for him to meet either of my parents. Especially not this soon.

"Stella! We are gonna be late if you don't hurry your ass up!" Matthew yelled at the top of his lungs from underneath my room.

I groaned in frustration and headed downstairs. The voices of the both of them grew louder the closer I got.

"I love cooking as well, Mrs. O'Brien. Been taking a few culinary classes in school to get better." Matthew sounded from the other room.

"Oh really? What's your favorite dish to make?" My mom asked him.

"Well I-" Matthew began before I opened the door to the kitchen, he looked slightly startled to see me at first, before his eyes trailed up and down my body. He nodded as if in some sort of approving way, what the hell? I wanted to say some not so nice things right then but had to keep the act up for my mom.

"Well hello Stella." My mom said, raising her eyebrows profoundly.

I focused my gaze at my mother, who had a giant bun in her hair with a robe on, "Hi mom."

"Matt here is a very interesting guy! I look forward to getting to know you more dear." My mom told us, patting Matthew on the back, who had a giant cookie in his hand, one of mom's famous chocolate chips. He was sitting on a stool that was obviously too small for him, so his legs were in an awkward position. It looked like he was trying to cross them like a lady but couldn't at the same time.

"You as well Mrs. O'Brien." Matthew smiled warmly.

"Oh please, call me Shelly!" She said excitedly, handing Matthew another cookie.

Matthew took it, with a confused look on his face, "Thank you, Shelly."

"Oh it's no problem really!" My mom began, waving her hands around dramatically before she leaned in closer to Matthew, "She's never brought a boy home before. It's so exciting!"

"Mommm! Stop please!" I said in an annoyed tone. Matthew laughed in the background.
Though I have to admit, it was nice to see my mother actually happy and excited about something rather than her normal grumpy self.

"Oh alright alright! Have fun you two!" She waved before heading up the stairs towards her bedroom.

A sigh of relief escaped my lips and I turned to Matthew who was looking at me like I had just told him something incredibly weird, "What is that look for?"

He shook his head and stood up from the stool, grasping his 2 cookies, "Nothing, nothing. Your mom is just pretty fun"

"Yeah, I wish she was like that more often." I confessed.

"She isn't like that all the time?" Matthew asked, tilting his head slightly to the side in a questioning manner.

I laughed, shaking my head, "Oh hell no, but come on let's go to your wedding thingy majiggy."
