Honeymoon/Missing Home

Micky and I traveled where I had planned my dream honeymoon ever since I was a child: Colorado Springs Colorado. I'd come here once as a ten year old and had always loved the beautiful mountains in Colorado. horseback riding there was splendid too. Estes Park would've been the best place to stay but all the hotels were booked up. they woulda been too expensive anyway. The whole drive there took about 14 hours. the speed limit was 55 the whole way, so it took awhile to get there. the drive, according to me, was beautiful and absolutely perfect as soon as we crossed the Colorado line. "it is beautiful out here, I'll give ya that" Micky kept saying whenever I drawled on about how wonderful Colorado was.

"Rocky Mountain National Park?" Micky asked as we were getting further into the mountains. "Yes!! this was where I got my Jr. Park Ranger badge when I was 10!". "Which is actually in the future you know" be reminded me. "Yeah whatever"

The park had changed from now to then. from the time I came from, there was a huge building with a gift shop, and park rangers all around stating facts about the park. Now, all there was was a lookout on a high point, to try and find elk at. it shouldn't be too difficult. there were always elk up here this far in the mountains. "shall we go up there?" Micky pointed to the lookout. "why not" I replied.

I honestly don't know why I didn't come up here before when we'd visited all those many years ago. I'm not exaggerating here. it was one of those moments when you've found the most beautiful place in the world. I'm sure there's prettier places in the world but as far as I've seen, this tops them all. "We shoulda brought a camera. we could've been like Ringo" I exclaimed. "why would you wanna be like him?". "Because he's handsome and super groovy". "Hey! I'm your husband!". "Yeah I know. it's not like you don't think Twiggy is a babe". "I don't tell you about it though". "Okay just drop it already. I'm sorry okay?". "That's what I like to hear". I glared but covered it up with a smile.

We had taken in the sights for four more hours before finding a nice hotel to stay in. we ended up staying in a suite which was, REALLY nice compared to the other hotel rooms we could've gotten.

~~three days later~~

We passed through Estes Park Colorado. the same place where i'd taken my first horseback ride as a kid on a horse named Dr. Savage. I missed those days. when I got whatever I wanted and drove a really nice car. now, I don't even have a car. I remember when my parents and I rushed through Colorado just to get to Estes Park to go horseback riding for me. I had demanded that we take a ride there to see if I could get the same horse as I had last time. I thought back to all my parents had done for me, and realized that i really missed being back home with them. staying with four guys, although famous rockstars, can get kinda, what do I wanna say? old? annoying? And I found myself not able to relate to them by anything other than the bass guitar. And now, I did the only logical thing left to do. I prayed. I prayed that I could somehow get back to my future home with Mick. my REAL home.

~~3 days later~~

It happened real fast. One minute I was in the Monkeemobile at a stoplight with Mick, and the next I was back in my bedroom in my mansion... in the future. back where I started. the only problem was, Micky wasn't here. maybe he'd come later. I'd just have to wait and see.

~~years later~~

It's been four years since my magical home arrival, and also four years since I'd seen Micky. gosh I missed him. everyday. I'd given up on hope of finding him again, or him finding me. I didn't even pray anymore.

On my way to my friends house whom I hadn't seen in awhile, I got that funny falling feeling that you sometimes get just as you fall asleep. it felt familiar, just like that terrific day many long years ago.
I ended up on the beach where it all started. with white sand blowing, waves crashing and four attractive guys jogging and goofing around on the beach. The Monkees. Micky came over to me. "can I help you with something miss? or would you like to play some volleyball? what's your name?".

THE END

I'm sorry to say the story has come to an end, for many of you who were enjoying it. I'm also sorry that it might not've had a desired ending you were expecting.
