I sat on the steps of the school about 2 hours after school. Everyone had already left, but this morning my dad told me not to come home tonight.
I pulled out my phone and sent a message to Day
Me : Day please talk to me.
It started raining so I ran under the roof, right above the doors. My phone vibrated in my hand.
Day : yeah what is it? But first let me say I'm sorry for storming off at lunch. I was just upset. I know you didn't tell me the truth Ocean. But I'm sorry.
I smiled, he was so sweet, and I just have to tell him about school...but not about home. I started typing a new message
Me : you're right I didn't... I'll tell you the truth I swear, but can you come to the school? I'm there and I wanna tell you face to face?
Day : Yeah I'll be there in 5 minutes Ocean.
I put my phone in my pocket, luckily it had stopped raining so I went and sat back down on the steps. About 30 seconds after I sat down, Day was standing in front of me. He stood there for a moment then sat down beside me, "Ok Ocean, I'm listening, take your time telling me." He said as I shivered a little. I looked at Day, he looked into my eyes, "Ocean you don't have to tell me." He said as I looked down at my lap. I shook my head, "You're my best friend Day, I have to tell you."I said as I felt him put a jacket over my shoulders, which was good because I was freezing, "You're my only friend. I keep getting beat up, every single day. When no one is around and." I was cut short by a familiar man yelling at me from down the street. I looked up to see my dad walking towards us.
