hello again. yes i did post 2 times in a day and im proud of it lol. i hope u guys enjoy!! :3

tw: panic attacks 

"Hey Foster you in there?" Keefe asked, knocking on her bedroom door. No response. Edaline said she was up in her room. "Are you trying to look good for the Keefester?" Still no response. Was she sleeping? No. Was she ignoring him? No of course not. "Okay I'm coming in now you better be ready!" He said, opening her door carefully. 

The room looked empty. Except it wasn't. Keefe was flooded with Sophie's emotions. And they weren't what they usually were, they were simply panic and fear. And then he saw from the corner of his eye Sophie. Who was curled up into a ball, struggling to breathe. 

Keefe knew immediately what it was. 

She was having a panic attack. 

"Hey, hey, hey Foster it's okay, I'm here." He said, sitting in front of her so he could see her. "Okay deep breaths, Foster" Breathe in." Sophie mimics him, her breaths uneven. "And out." She exhales.  They repeated this for a few minutes, her breathing starting to calm down. 

"Okay now what are 5 things you can see?" Keefe asks. 

"The wall, the carpet, Ella, my dresser and you." she replies, breathless.

 "4 things you can hear?" 

"You, the wind, Sliveny and me." 

"3 things you can touch?" 

"The carpet, Ella and you." 

"2 things you can smell?" 

"The flowers and you." Keefe smiled at that. 

"And 1 thing you can taste?" 

"Toothpaste." 

"That's right Foster." He said, placing her on his lap, "Do you feel better now?" Sophie nods, "Thank you," she says, placing her head on his shoulder. "Your welcome Foster, anytime."

The techniques used by Keefe in this oneshot are called the 4-7-8 breathing method and the 5-4-3-2-1 method. 


The 4-7-8 breathing method:

-Breathe in for 4 seconds

-Hold for 7 seconds

-And exhale for 8 seconds

Try to repeat this at least 4 times


The 5-4-3-2-1 method:

It is a grounding technique and helps direct the person's focus away from the sources of stress. 

To use this method, answer the following questions:

1. What are 5 things you can see? 

2. What are 4 things you can hear?

3. What are 3 things you can touch?

4. What are 2 things you can smell?

5. What is 1 thing you can taste?


This method was NOT created by me, and I found most of the information from a website called MedicalNewsToday. 


These techniques can be used when you need to calm down, and the 4-7-8 breathing method can help when you need to sleep quickly!
