1 year later - Age 28

"Isn't it weird how you can walk down the street as Etho and nobody knows who are you?" Joel asks as they walk to the jailhouse, looking to Etho, who shrugs. "Meh, I'm just happy I don't get mobbed where-ever I go." Which, in all fairness, is true. Whenever Joel goes outside, as Lykos or just as Joel now, he's constantly being recognized.

"Think about it, if people are excited to see me, how excited would they be to see Agent Ender? New York's favourite hero?~" Joel snickers, running his fingers through his hair. Etho chuckles, "Imagine if Scar ever revealed his identity, that'd be insane." After 'the fall of New York's main villains' (as they're calling it), the heros have shared their identities amongst themselves just so that if someone like a kidnapping were to happen again they'd all have more to go off of.

"Or Grian, I'm surprised they like him that much for being only here for a year and a half." Joel notes, Etho hums before stopping for a second. "What—? Are you jealous?" Etho grins as he turns his head to look at Joel. Joel scoffs, "As if, I'd rather they aren't interested in me! It'd make grocery shopping way easier." Sure as hell it would. Last week some teenager tried to get his hand in marriage in the cake mix aisle of the supermarket! He's an adult—in no way is he cheating on Etho, let alone with a minor.

Joel can see the jailhouse over the outrageously tall hill now. The jailhouse is outside of the city and is just a giant cement building. Joel's visited it multiple times, with and without Etho. He's become familiar with the front guards and the head constable at the jailhouse, they even once had dinner together back at his and Etho's apartment (much to Etho's dismay).

After they check-in with whom they've come to visit, Joel quickly kisses Etho's hand as a form of goodbye (that he finds hilarious because Etho thinks PDA is cringe). He is brought to the visiting room with 2 guards as supervision and a glass wall that separates him from his only alive family.

"How have you been feeling, Martyn?" Joel stares at the man he still calls his brother. Through thick and thin, he truly can't bring himself to hate Martyn as much as New York does. Martyn puts the landline phone down dramatically for a second before picking it back up to talk into the microphone;

"Like shit."
