Amelias POV:
I waited nervously for Izzy to come out of Taylor's office, I knew this was for the best but I still worried for her, she was my younger sister and protecting her was all I ever knew. Eventually Taylor opened the door, rubbing Izzy's back as she walked out, fresh tears on her face but she looked relieved, like a weight had been lifted off her. She came out into the waiting room and sunk into the chair next to me, immediately wanting a hug. I smiled, opening up my arms for her. I gave a worried look to Taylor, who smiled back shaking her head mouthing 'she'll be okay', I smiled, rubbing her back, the poor thing looked exhausted from all the talking.
My session was next, but I didn't really want Izzy to hear what I was saying, some things I had shielded her from and didn't want her to know about. Taylor picked up on this, already having a plan, Gracie walked out of her room smiling. "Hey Izzy, I know you're probably really tired but Ams still has her session, so do you want to go in Gracie's room and do some colouring maybe? She's very nice!' Gracie gave a small wave to Izzy, getting a smile in returned. She whined slightly when I had to leave, but she hesitantly followed Gracie. "I'll be done soon bug, have fun with Gracie okay?" She gave a slight nod and I smiled, walking into Taylor's room and slumping into her couch.
'How bad was it" you sighed looking at Taylor, sitting across the room with her notebook out. She chuckled slightly. "She's okay, I would say it went well for her first time, you need to chill out, it's time for your session, she's had her's. You sighed nodding 'I know, I just worry about her so much.' Taylor gave a sympathetic smile nodding, "I know you do, but you've shielded her from so much, she truely doesn't know how bad it is at all, your the one that i'm worried about'. You nodded, knowing she was right. "You're right". Taylor nodded, "Okay, I need to open with this question because after your last session I'm worried.' You gulped, knowing exactly where she was headed, you braced yourself for the question. 'Amelia, have you self harmed anymore since our last session?" She said, looking clear into your eyes, her voice stone serious.
'I, um, I don't know what to say." You gulped. "You do know what to say, it's a yes or no question, you need to be honest with me'. You nodded, knowing you couldn't escape this uncomfortable conversation. "Um yeah I did, but I promise it wasn't that bad" you mumbled sheepishly. Taylor sighed, mainly feeling sadness for you. 'Okay, how many times, and where?" "Only once! I promise!, and um it was on my thigh." You sighed, feeling disappointed in yourself. "Okay hun, I need to see it okay? Just to medically assess it then we will talk." She said, standing up and crouching down where you were sitting, this was uncomfortable, but you had to do it. You lowered your shorts, revealing the angry and red cut, but you didn't lie, there was only one, single cut, because you had actually stopped yourself for once, hey, maybe therapy was working.
Taylor prodded around, assessing the wound. She pulled your shorts back up and sighed. "You just escaped getting stitches Ams, that's a pretty deep one.' you gulped 'Uh.. yeah' She rubbed your thigh gently then sat on your couch, needing to be closer so she really could get her point across. 'okay Amelia, I'm gonna give you one more chance before I might have to admit you impatient somewhere okay? I know it sucks, but if you continue to hurt yourself, i'm going to have to intervene. I'm letting you go home okay, but you HAVE to promise me Amelia, and truely promise, if you ever think about hurting yourself, you will call me immediately okay?" You looked at her, seeing the pure worry in her eyes, you felt terrible. 'Um.. yeah I'll call' you choked. 'That doesn't sound very convincing ams, i'm trusting you on this okay?" You sighed "I'm not getting admitted anywhere, so I'm gonna have to listen to you" You huffed out. Taylor smiled quickly, her anxiety slightly going away. "Good, thats.. good" Taylor sighed relieved, getting up and walking over to her chair again.
'okay so we have our deal then? You call me whenever you're feeling upset, or you think you might hurt yourself, understood?" You groaned slightly, making her laugh "Yes mom" you groaned. 'Excuse you, i'm still in my thirties, and i'm just looking out for you, thank you very much.' You smirked, 'yeah, I guess you aren't terrible". She rolled her eyes "Okay diva, let's go book you in again, and I expect you will show up okay?" She said, giving me "The look", which meant she was serious. 'Yes I'll be here, do I bring Izzy as well?' you asked. "Yep, I'm going to book her in with Gracie the same time you're with me, I think she'll get along with her well." Taylor said, opening the door for me to leave her room. You walked into the waiting room, seeing Izzy smiling at Gracie holding some pages she had coloured in. You smiled, happy she had found someone she could trust. Taylor booked the appointments in the calendar, hugging her goodbye as you grabbed Izzy and left. And for the first time, you didn't hate the idea of having to come back.
