"Akira?"

The dampness of the mud underneath my feet was a cherry on my ass.

"Ved, You need to retu-"

Before I could finish my sentence he gripped my throat, pushing me deep against the tree behind me. The lamp slide down from my hand as tightly clutched onto his wrist. The heaviness of the air engulfed me along with his palm encircling my throat.

"What- are you do-ing?" I coughed while hitting him on his chest to loosen the grip.

"You betrayed me." He growled, his eyes bloodshot and lines on his forehead. His hand veins were so prominently visible that I could count the intersection of each one.

"I didn't betray you. You know it. Your emotions are heightened right now." I paused to take a breath before looking back onto his face.

"You-" He spoke again but I shouted in between.

"FUCKING LEAVING ME IDIOT." I put a tight slap on his cheek as the suffocation was getting too much to hold onto.

The red faint glow in his eyes evanesced. The curse was fading down.

I hit the ground with a brutal thud, the impact knocking the wind out of me as he practically hurled me down. Pain radiated through my body, but it was nothing compared to the chaos swirling in my mind.

What the fuck I just did? I never should've slapped him. The regret was immediate and overwhelming, sinking into my chest like a heavy weight.

Before I could even piece together what was happening, I was suddenly airborne, my heart pounding in sheer terror. His grip was unyielding, his arm locked tightly around me as he flung me over his shoulder like I weighed nothing.

"You raise your hand on me, Wife." His words thinned at the end. His hand was tightly wrapped around my legs as I Struggled on his broad shoulder.

"There, the moment I saw you over the hill with your torn dress, I should have fucked you there, on your knees, at my Mercy."

He gritted, his grip tightening.

Lust. It was lust dripping from his tongue. Does pain turn him on?

"It's just the curse taking over you Ved. Whatever you are feeling is just Lust." I murmured, almost like a sob.

He didn't say a word; instead, he quickened his pace, nearly bolting like a bullet fired from a gun. His chest heaved with the rapid rhythm of his heartbeat, his breaths coming in ragged, shallow bursts.

The curse was at its under-peak -still not completely consuming him, but had started a storm within him.He was a man on the edge, driven by emotions too powerful to contain, each step a desperate attempt to escape the chaos unraveling inside him-full of rage and desperation.
