The year flew past. Students were no longer petrified, Potter killed the giant snake, me and the girls are close as ever, and Voldemort is not back.
As we're getting on the train, the boys and I squeeze into a compartment.
"This year was...interesting." I laugh softly. "Yeah, but it was a good year. Exams were canceled, and thank god they were because I would have failed." Enzo chuckled.
"Oh come on. If you tried to study nearly as much as Tom you would be fine." I smirk knowing damn well that he wasn't going to listen.
"Are you doing anything for the summer?" Regulus asks me. "No idea. We might travel. Not sure." I shrug. "Just make sure to get your Hogsmeade paper signed. We'll spend a lot of time there." Five reminds me.
When the train arrives at the station, I hug all the boys and head over to where my mom was standing.
She doesn't really look at me or my brother. She just jerks her head for us to follow her.
Me and James get in the car and start talking to each other. James is telling me that Hogsmeade is incredibly fun and that me and my friends will have lots of fun together.
"Now, kids, when we get home I want you to say hi to Dave and unpack. Once you're done, come downstairs because we have to talk about something concerning your father." She instructed.
I turn to my brother with concern in my eyes. He shrugs his shoulders as he shifted in his seat.
When we get home I run to my room and plummet down in my bed. THIs year I had slept in multiple different beds. All seven of the boys beds, and my own from my new dorm. It felt good to be home.
I lay my two trunks on the floor and start putting things away. After about half an hour I finally finished packing. I slowly go down the stairs where I see everybody waiting for me at the dinner table.
"I'm here. What's up?" I sighed as I slid into the seat next to my brother. "A few weeks ago, your father asked me to tell you that he would be moving to the US. And I'm so sorry to tell you guys this, but his plane crashed...and there were no survivors."
My mouth opens slightly in shock. I feel tears forming in my eyes. "W-what?" I manage to form. "Father's dead?" James repeating it aloud only made it worse; it just made it even more real. My mom nodded slightly, her eyes red. I push back forcefully from the table, getting up from my chair. I run to my room and slam that door.
I grab my hair in frustration and pick up a random object then throw it across the room. I slide down to the floor and start weeping into my arms. I hear my door open and my brother comes into the room. He sits down next to me and his head on my shoulder.
I noticed that James was not crying nearly as much as me. "What's wrong?" I ask rather stupidly. "Well, our father just died." He says, trying to exhale a laugh. "But when we were little, he made me promise him that I would always be here for you. That I would always be tough when you couldn't. But I didn't know that it would be this hard." He sighed. I take his hand and turn to him. "Well, now that dad's gone, we're just a shit-load family, so we're in this together. C'mere. Follow me." I got up and walked out of the room.
I look downstairs and see that our parents are not in the room. I silently go down with James and head over to the liquor cabinet. I pull out my bobby-pin and pick the lock. James looks at me with a confused expression. "Mattheo and Draco taught me." I shrug, taking a bottle of vodka and climb up the stairs again.
I open the bottle and quickly take a drink from it. I hold it out for James to grab, which he hesitantly does. "You're too young for this, y'know. I'm not going to say anything but I'm supporting it either." I laugh at his words and take the bottle back. "What can I say? It's easier to drown your sorrows away." James raises his eyebrows at me. "When did you have your first drink?" "A few months ago. Me and the girls were playing never have I ever "drink edition"." I slurred. James rolls his eyes at me. "Alright, I'm going to go to sleep. See you tomorrow." He says softly as he walks out the door.
