(Isabella's POV)
The rain poured down around us, casting a mystical spell over the castle grounds. Mattheo's eyes sparkled as he pulled me into his chest, his warm breath dancing across my skin. I felt a shiver run down my spine as he brushed my hair off my face, his fingers grazing my cheek. Before I could comprehend what was happening, his lips brushed against mine.
The world around us melted away, leaving only the two of us, suspended in a moment of pure magic. I felt a flutter in my chest, a mix of excitement and trepidation. We'd always been friends, never venturing beyond the boundaries of our friendship. But in that moment, something shifted.
As we parted, Mattheo's eyes searched mine, seeking answers to unspoken questions. I couldn't help but wonder what had prompted him to kiss me. Was it a moment of impulse, or something more?
The sound of raindrops hitting the pavement brought me back to reality. Mattheo turned and disappeared into the darkness, leaving me feeling lost and bewildered.
I slowly made my way back to my dorm, my mind reeling with thoughts and emotions. As I entered the cozy warmth of our common room, Sophia looked up from her book, concern etched on her face.
"What's wrong?" she asked, sensing the turmoil brewing inside me.
I took a deep breath, trying to process my emotions. "Mattheo kissed me," I said slowly, the words feeling foreign on my lips.
The room fell silent, my friends' eyes fixed on me with a mix of surprise and curiosity. Astoria's voice broke the silence, "What? That's huge!"
I nodded, feeling a mix of emotions swirling inside me. "I know. I'm just... confused."
As we talked, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something fundamental had shifted between Mattheo and me. The question was, what did it mean for our friendship, and for us?

The next morning, I made my way to the Great Hall, my heart racing with anticipation. As I entered the bustling hall, I spotted the boys' table, but Mattheo was nowhere to be seen.
"Good morning," I said, trying to sound casual despite the turmoil brewing inside me.
"Where's Mattheo?" I asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
The boys exchanged glances, their expressions a mix of amusement and concern. "Probably in the dorm," Draco said with a smirk. "Why?"
I shrugged, trying to downplay my interest. "I just need to talk to him."
As I made my way to the boys' dorm, my heart pounded in my chest. What would I say to Mattheo? Would he even want to talk to me?
I knocked on the door, and when there was no response, I let myself in. Mattheo lay in bed, his eyes closed, his chest rising and falling with each breath.
"Y'know that when you knock, you're supposed to wait for a response," he said, his voice low and husky.
I smiled, feeling a flutter in my chest. "I'll keep that in mind for next time."
Mattheo opened his eyes, his gaze locking onto mine. For a moment, we just stared at each other, the tension between us palpable.
"What's wrong?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Mattheo's eyes searched mine, his expression a mix of vulnerability and longing. "I was worried I'd ruined everything," he said, his voice cracking.
My heart went out to him, and I felt a surge of affection. "You could never ruin everything, Mattheo," I said, my voice filled with conviction.
As we talked, the tension between us dissipated, replaced by a sense of understanding and connection. It was as if we'd crossed a threshold, entering a new phase of our relationship.
Mattheo's eyes locked onto mine, his gaze burning with intensity. "I have to ask, why didn't you hate me after I kissed you?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
I took a deep breath, my heart pounding in my chest. "Because... I think I might like you too," I admitted, my voice barely audible.
Mattheo's face lit up with a radiant smile. "Really?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
I nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. "Yeah. I've been thinking about it all night, and... I realize that my feelings for you go beyond friendship."
Mattheo's smile faltered for a moment, replaced by a look of vulnerability. "I've liked you for a while now," he admitted, his voice was faltering ever so slightly. "I was scared to ruin our friendship, but... I couldn't help how I feel."
My heart melted at his words, and I felt a surge of affection.
"Isa?" He starts. "Yeah?" My voice trembles a little as I breathed out that single word.
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
This question caught me off guard. I was expecting him to ask me if I could stay with him for a while.
"Yes," my voice was just above a whisper.
Mattheo's eyes lit up and he pulled me into a hug.
We crossed a threshold in our relationship that I don't think can be undone. But for the first time in a while; I wasn't worried about anything, I was truly happy.
