I feel empty as soon as Sam left, i just practically admitted to liking him to his face, holy shit, does he like me back, ofc he doesnt like me back he would of said it instead of running off! I just fucked up everything, shit shit shit. My life is overrrr. He is gonna tell everyone at school and im just gonna be known as the weird gay kid. Fuck. I slump down from the wallo the ground, i eel my phone buzz in my pocket, i slip it out and I check my TikTok notifs. 'Sam golbach has viewed ur profile' oh great, another reminder of Sam. I scroll on TikTok for a while. I decide to call Jake to tell him everything.

" yo dude what's up?"

"I just fucked up Jake"

"What happened?" He asks with worry in his voice

" well me and Sam got into a fight and well..." i hesitate not sure of what to say.

" Colby. Tell me what happened" seriousness in his voice

"Basically i just told Sam i love him and then he ran off into the woods."

" wait really?"

" yes and i dont know what to do" i sniffle

" hey, colbs, its ok everything will be fine but could you tell me what time this all happened?"

"Well when i went on my phone after he left it was 3:05 pm"

" Colby... that was almost two hours ago"

" Sam's been in th woods for two hours!?" Damn i must have been scrolling for awhile.

" Colby i think you need to go see if he is ok"

" alright, but if i need you i will howl, and bring Corey if you do, bye"

I say quickly and hang up. I run out of the cabin and turn into my wolf, not caring who sees me.

Sam's pov:

after i ran out of the cabin I went into my wolf form after i made sure nobody can see me. I start sprinting and thinking about what just happened, i think i just fucked up Colby just told me he loved me, whether he meant it or not I just ran away instead of telling him how i feel. I feel someone watching me again but i ignore it this time. Eventually I stop running and slow down into a trot, i had ran around a lot and finally stoped to take a drink from the river. I go back into my human form and checked the time, damn it's already been 1 hour and 50 minutes since i left Colby, maybe I should go and talk to him about how i feel. I go back to my wolf and start walking back until i heard a gunshot behind me "WTF WAS THAT!?" You I mumble under my breath as i turn around, all the birds had flew away, i look around and then suddenly there was an explosion right in front of me, i fall backwards and hear another gunshot, i look in front of me and see Alex. "fuck" i mumble

"dont try to run, you'll just make it worse" he says

I start backing up, fuck now he knows who I am, he would've see me check my phone and shift back into my wolf. Now he is gonna try and kill me just like he did with Colby. i back away slowly,

"Ha dont think you can get away that easily,"

He starts shooting at me and I dodge them, i start to try and run, "BANG, BANG, BANG. Then i feel a terrible pain in my back right leg and I collapse,

"SAM!" I hear sombdy yell, then im surrounded by flames, bright reds, yellows, and oranges, is all i can see, a ring surrounding us,  but just as the gap in front of me gets surrounded by flames, i see black fur leap from a rock and next to me. "Sam?" He whispers.

Colbys pov:

I run not te woods and then i hear a gunshot, i go as fast as i could. I hear a boom and then multiple gunshots i just hope sam is ok. As i get closer to the gunshots I start seeing smoke. fuck. As i approach the sounds i see a ring o fire closing around a wolf with white fur that's laying on the ground. "SAM!" I yell and jump off a rock into the ring of fire. "Sam?"

" Colby" he whispers

" your boyfriend isn't gonna save you" i look up and see Alex standing there. There is a hill to the left and a big boulder to the right. I growl at him

" your not going to get away this time Colby" Alex said

" how do you know my name?!" I growl

" ohh Colby, how dumb do you think i am? He teases

"Dumb enough to spend your life doing this" i say

His expression turns to anger as he points the gun towards me, i step in front of Sam's body to make sue he doesnt get even more hurt. I stare at him intensely "when did you find out who me and Sam are?" I say wanting answers.

" why would i tell you that?" He says harshly.

"Because once that guns out of your hand, your dead"

"Oh but you've underestimated me"

I howl as loud as i can hoping Jake can hear me and come. I howl a few more times before looking back at Alex.

Jake's pov:

Im not doing anything except for sitting outside of my cabin, making sure that if Colby needs help i will be there as fast as i can. I hope Sam doesn't get to harsh on him, i know he doesnt mean it, sometimes, more recently, I've seen him staring at Colby more, not in a mean way, but the way he looks at him is not a 'I wanna be your friend' way. It's more of a 'i wish one day we could be together' way. Some day i know that they will realise there feelings for each other. But suddenly i hear a howl coming from the woods but when i look up i see smoke, but it wasn't normal smoke, it was mixed with black and purple colours to. Some girl screams and runs towards the hall, now the teachers and councillors are gathering everyone to the hall. I dont think they are worried about the smoke but the howls that keep coming from the woods, i stand up from my spot on the ground and look around for Corey, "where are you Corey?" I whisper under my breath. I spot him looking confused while walking towards the hall, he sticks out from all the people because he is the only one that is walking, everyone else is running. " Corey!" I yell. His head shoots up looking for the on who called his name. I run towards him " Corey!, we need to go into the forest" he looks back towards the forest and back at me like im crazy.

" the one with purple, black, and grey smoke and howls coming out of it!, no thank you"

" please Corey, i know we dont get along very well but i need you right now"

" why?" He asks

" because, that's Colby howling, he went out there to find Sam and before he left he told me that if he needs me then he will howl"

"What does that have to do with me?"

" he told me to get yo and go help him help Sam, but i think its more serious now".

" fine, if its for Sam then im coming."

We start running toward the woods, we ignor any annoying adult telling us to get into the hall.

" wait Jake, to get there as fast as we can we have to be in our wolf, but if we do it now everyone will see us."

" i know but something in my gut is telling me something is really wrong, and the smoke."

" ok"

There's no going back now. We sprint as fast as we could towards the source of the smoke. As we get closer i see a ring of fire. There's a small cliff over looking it. " Corey" i whisper "let's go up on that cliff so we can see what's happening."

"Ok" he whispers/

We climb up as quiet as we can. We look down and see Sam on the ground with blood on one of his legs and Colby standing in front of him ( they are still wolves btw) Alex, the camp councillor is infront of both of them pointing a gun to Colby.

"Ha, Howling isn't gonna help you" he says

" get on with it!" I hear a muffled voice say from behind a bush that isn't in the ring of fire.

" you aren't the only one out here are you" Colby says and the a wolf with familiarbrown fur walks out.
