"You think you're different to me, don't you?" I tilt my head, staring at each other's lips.
Without breaking eye contact, he slowly stands, making him in control with the advantage in height. I'm the one looking up at him now.
"And you...

It's 8:30 in the morning and while I'm usually patient, today I wasn't. Reggie is usually early. He once told me that early is on time and on time is late.
I thought about ditching his tutoring sessions too since I was no longer associating with his sister. But then I thought about who I'd be letting down. I've learned to know that Reggie is a very good kid. He's nice and he cares about things that others might not bother learning. That and he seemed to really be interested when I taught him.
I tap my fingers on the desk, waiting in our usual meet up which was the library. I had requested to use my study hall period as time for me to tutor, guidance thought it was such an excellent idea when I mentioned it. She said something about how it's good I'm "embracing" my disability or some shit.
I only notice Reggie had come in when he appears at the table saying something I don't catch. Quickly realizing he said something, I turned up my hearing aid to listen better.
"Sorry, I'm late. My sister woke up late and since I'm not speaking to her, I didn't wake her." He explains with a stressed look on his face. His hair was messy and he wasn't wearing his usual blazer.
Interest peaks me at the mention of his sister but still, I don't ask any follow up questions. Theres a tired look on his face, he's usually a lot more chatty but today he wasn't.
"Take out your notebook." I tell him and I wait for him to take it out.
He digs through his backpack for almost two minutes, taking everything out besides a notebook and then lets out a frustrated mutter.
"Shoot. I must've forgot it. Sorry." Reggie shakes his head and zips his bag.
He looks to be embarrassed, he looks straight down onto the table and loosens the top of his tie in a way to relieve himself. I expect him to say something but instead he just looks off into the distance with a frown in his face.
Awkwardly settling in the silence, I tell myself not to bother asking. I'll just move on with the session and do my job because that's why I'm here.
"It's alright. We can just go over what we did when I last saw you." I tell him shifting in my seat.
He doesn't seem to hear me, still caught up in his own world. When he doesn't reply, I had to ask. I'm not an asshole.
"You alright?"
His frown seems to deepened and he lets out a sigh.
