"There has to be a mole," you said to Gojo, Shoko, and Kusakabe.
"Here? At Jujutsu Tech?" Shoko questioned.
"Not here. But someone at the Goodwill Event was feeding information to the curses that invaded the school grounds."
"What makes you think so? It's not necessarily a private event."
"Think about everyone that was severely hurt in the attack. Maki, Megumi, Toge, but people from Kyoto's school weren't harm that severely, save for Kamo, who was with Megumi and Toge. Even Kasumi, who was asleep during the entire invasion, wasn't hurt at all. Also, there's this."
You pulled out your phone and placed it on the table, a photo of a cockroach displayed on the screen.
"A bug?" Kusakabe questioned.
You nodded and zoomed out, making everyone lean forward in interest.
The bug was surrounded by food but didn't move from its place on the wall. Everyone from Jujutsu Tech Tokyo sat in that room, eating.
"I see... so it's probably controlled by someone or something," Gojo concluded.
"Exactly. And remember, Gojo, you told me that you and Itadori were attacked by some curse that spurts lava from its head, but he didn't know that he would be so outmatched."
"That's right!"
"So, how is it that these curses knew that they'd be overpowered by you and made a curtain to keep you out only for a certain amount of time? And lastly," you swiped the screen on your phone, showing the empty spaces of a shelf, "they knew exactly where the cursed objects they needed were."
"Wouldn't that imply a person from this school?" Kusakabe said.
"None of the first years, other than Megumi, knows where the vault is. And we have to take into account who was attacked during the event. And who wasn't. Kasumi is too weak to be a mole, I'm afraid, seeing how she was injured fighting Maki, who was holding back so she wouldn't kill her. But I asked Mai who she was close with and she said that she and Mechamaru were very fond of each other."
"How do you know that Mai isn't the mole and is trying to redirect you?" Shoko asked.
"Unfortunately, I don't think she's strong enough either. Besides, she doesn't have the range to spy on us all the way from Kyoto. The person that does is Mechamaru."
Shoko hummed. "That's a strong accusation. Why would he betray his school like that?"
"Panda told me that Mechamaru's actual body is so fragile that he can't leave his confinement room. We know that there's a curse that can alter people's bodies from the transfigured guards of the vault. Who's to say that he can't transfigure Mechamaru's actual body so that he can leave the confinement room he's been in?"
Gojo grinned and turned to Kusakabe, who scoffed. "You have a point... We'll look into it. I'll ask Utahime and Gakuganji about it. Nice job."
You nodded and walked out of the staff room with Gojo following at your heel.
You smiled a bit and looked at the ceiling.
"What is it?" Gojo asked. "Is the information you shared to us a smiling matter?"
"No, no, it's just..." You turned to Gojo. "I get that it's not right, but isn't it a bit sweet that even in his desperation, he asked them to keep Kasumi safe? The sun he craves wouldn't have changed even if she was gone, and yet he asked them to spare her as if it would've."
