Chapter 39: Justice Dads go to War Finale

"It won't be so lovely if I find even one scratch on..!" Superman began to say angrily as he walked forward only to have Batman put a hand on his chest.

"Don't be too hasty, we don't want to endanger the kids' lives any further." Batman whispered, despite feeling just as full of rage inside as well.

"Awe how sweet the Man of Steel has a soft spot for his little clone." Goodness said with a venomous smile, doing her best to try and provoke Superman.

Superman's eyes started to glow, but then he saw Conner crushed under the weight of a gravity field. Batman's warning immediately rang in his head causing him to hush any violent intentions. He was not about to fall into Goodness's trap, especially if it meant endangering his son's life.

"Enough stalling you old hag! It's 10 of us verse 1 of you, seeing as our kids took out one of your psychotic furies over there." Catwoman said with a proud smirk.

"That they did and I must say it made me want them in my little orphanage even more. So I don't plan on simply giving them over, for while you're right about me being outnumbered it is yet to be seen if I am outmatched!"

Goodness tossed Robin to the side and pounced at Catwoman who narrowly dodged her staff thanks to her acrobatic skills. This caused the rest of the members of the league to spread out from either the sheer force of Goodness landing near them or their own intentional dodging. The League quickly recovered and proceeded to try and overwhelm her with all of them attacking at once. Unfortunately despite her larger frame Goodness was able to dodge the barrage of attacks. However luckily this was to the leagues advantage as Goodness had backed herself into a corner.

Batman decided this was a good time to engage in hand to hand combat. So alongside Wonder Woman, Catwoman, and Superman the four rushed at her furiously. The older woman held up her own quite well, even knocking both Wonder Woman and Superman to the floor. However Catwoman had flipped on top of her and wrapped her legs tightly around her thick neck. This wasn't choking her, but it kept her still as she tried in vain to try and throw the ex-cat burgles off. Catwoman held this up for nearly two minutes till she was exactly where she wanted Goodness to be.

"Green Lantern now!" Catwoman called out as she jumped off Granny Goodness's shoulder and bounded off the wall close behind them.

On que Green Lantern sent out a huge hand construct that then wrapped around Goodness constructing her movements. Granny tried to fight the hand and break it, but found it impossible to move even an inch.

"I think that's checkmate for you Granny, you're now both surrounded and officially outmatched." Green Arrow taunted as he readied an arrow aimed directly at her.

"Ha, you think you can threaten me with that little toy arrow of yours! You may have detained me and forced me to admit defeat, but this is far from a win for you fools!" Granny Goodness maliciously chuckled.

"My fist around your body would say otherwise." Green Lantern retorted.

"You may have been able to defeat me,but don't forget you still have Lord Darkseid to deal with. Until you strike him down, you, your precious little children, and pathetic planet will never be safe!"

As Granny spewed venom at them, it was then Green Arrow released the arrow he had ready. It landed on the wall behind Goodness and released a green gas. Almost immediately her head drooped down, knocking her out and solidifying her defeat.

"That's exactly what we intend to do." Batman said confidently as he watched the old woman sleep.

As soon as it was clear that the dangerous old hag was truly out, the mentors immediately turned their attention to the protégés. Bruce and Selina sprinted over to Dick, who had been tossed into a wall, and scooped the poor child into their arms.
