Once more, the mysterious man stood over his computer with its screen outlining his features. This time a woman with straight, dark blue hair, white eyes and a black body suit stood behind him. The suit outlined her features, and showed off her chest. Her boots were at her knees, and she wore a utility belt.
"Let me get this straight," She began. "You want me to take out one of the best teams in the world."
He snarled. "They ARE the world's best, my dear. And you are the world's best assassin. Is that a problem?"
She swallowed back. "No Sir, but you have to give me help on this. I can't take them with my equipment."
"I plan on." He turned to the screen. "They all have their own weaknesses. Kootra uses technology to teleport. Take away the bow and the technology and he's nothing. Danz can speak to technology, but with the right radio frequency he'll be stuck in his own mind. Ze needs to see the energy to use it. Sly's weakness is his kind heart; break his sword, and break his heart. Make Spoon the one thing he fears the most; human. And rage flows through Nova's veins constantly, except in his sleep. And Seamus, he doesn't even have any powers. I'll send some minions for him so you won't have to waist your time."
"Thank you. I won't let you down."
She began to walk away and he gave her one last closing threat. "You better not." His voice hissed.
Meanwhile, at Cherry Blossom Mountains, Nova looked out over the view, lost in his own thoughts. That is, until Spoon broke him out of it as he landed on the railing in bluejay form.
"You know, I'll never understand why you bought this place." The bird spoke.
"You know I'll never understand why you can't be human, for just one day."
"I'm serious." He replied. "You hate soft, pretty stuff and your house is at the top of a mountain with a very romantic view and Cherry Blossom trees fucking everywhere."
"It's calm."
"Exactly! You are not a calm person!" The bird argued bouncing about.
"That's exactly why I NEED some calmness in my life. Now why don't you answer my question?" Nova raised an eyebrow.
"I don't know." He sighed. "I just hate being... me. I mean, why be a useless sack of shit when I can fly, or breathe under water, or run faster than a car."
"So you're saying humans are useless?"
"No!" He replied frustrated, then sighed again. "I'm saying I'm useless."
The bird turned around on the railing and looked out on the view with his friend. It was a gorgeous view that looked down into a valley, and the city stood tall in the distance.
"Who says?" Nova asked.
"Who says what?" The bird looked up at him.
"Who says you're useless?"
He looked away again. "A lot of people."
"Oh really? I've never said it. The guys haven't either and Ali wouldn't even dream of it. So why should you care about anyone else's opinions?"
He ruffled his wings. "I... I don't know. I just... do."
"Hm, well I can't change that." He paused. "You wanna play catch?"
"I'm not a dog!" He protested.
Nova grinned. "But you can be. And when you are you enjoy it."
Spoon gracefully flew down to the deck. Upon landing he changed to a dachshund.
"Okay, you're right; I do."
Nova went in the house and grabbed a tennis ball. "A wiener dog? Really?"
"Yes, now throw the damn ball."
He did as requested and threw it. Without thinking he launched it extremely far.
"I hate you sometimes." Spoon said looking at the distance he had to run.
"Sorry!" Nova complained, not really sorry.
The tiny dog trotted down the patio stairs and began his trek to the valley. Nova went inside and got something to drink, knowing he'd be waiting a while. After a half an hour he still didn't return. Worried, Nova walked down to where the ball should have landed.
There was no sign of the doxie, until he looked into a dent in the mountain to see a woman with blue hair standing with the tennis ball in her hand and an unconscious human Spoon at her feet. She starred at him for a second and he starred back, not knowing how to react.
The woman looked at the ball in her hand and smiled. Then the ball began to be consumed by a gold dust that she seemed to be producing. It wasn't any normal dust; it was the sandman's best weapon. Sleeping powder.
She threw it at Nova, but he caught it. He didn't realize that's what she wanted. His lungs filled with the dust and he began to cough. Nova dropped it, but it was too late. He fell backwards into the river, and the woman laughed viciously.
11:20 PM, the city. Kootra closed his blinds of his pent house and grabbed his water off his dresser.
"Do you ever find it weird you're the only one with a house in a normal location?" His wife asked, not pulling her eyes off her phone screen.
"I'm also the only one with a wife." He replied. "They just like being where they feel comfortable I guess."
She shrugged. It was getting late and they both started to yawn. Kootra threw his wristbands -the ones that let him teleport- onto his side table. He checked the time to see it was 11:30, which was late for him. Once he was in bed he was quick to fall asleep.
While all lights were out, one turned on in the hallway. The door opened but they still didn't wake. A figure walked in and over to his side table.
"Your team," She whispered to herself while putting the bands around her wrists. "They will fall and there's nothing you can do to stop it."
12:00 AM, Fox Hollow. Sly's phone buzzed, seconds before he had drifted off. Sleepily, he rolled over, but his eyes shot open when he saw the text.
'I'm breaking up with you.'
He sat straight up in shock and as he did so a hand caught him by the throat. Sly looked up and say a woman with steel blue eyes like Ze's, and dark blue hair. In awe, he just sat there, but then he snapped back to reality.
Sly grabbed her wrist only to realize she had Koorta's teleporting bands on. She was in front of him one second, and gone the next. Sly jumped up and threw on clothes, then ran out his bedroom door to find her. He looked down one end of the hall to see a minion, and another on the other side.
He was trapped, no way out. He knew there was no way he would get out of this, so he quickly grabbed his phone and hit the first number he found.
12: 10, the abandoned city. Seamus was hard at work writing a letter at his desk. Then his phone began to ring and he groaned as it pulled him away from his work.
He answered. "What do you want this late Sly?" No reply. "Sly? Sly?!"
He heard the phone hit the ground and a woman's voice faintly. "You can't run from me." She taunted. "I've caught all your friends and my minions already have Seamus by now."
Seamus instantly reacted and shot up, only to see one of those minions right behind him. He punched it and it vanished into dust. Seamus grabbed a dagger from his desk as they all started coming for him left and right.
