"You think you're different to me, don't you?" I tilt my head, staring at each other's lips.
Without breaking eye contact, he slowly stands, making him in control with the advantage in height. I'm the one looking up at him now.
"And you...

Today the football team had an at home game. We had been preparing all week for it and I was overworking myself just for today because like everything else, it had to be perfect.
When Nonna found out I was performing today, she made a whole dramatic scene about having to attend, no surprise there.
Mom said she would make it too, which still feels weird but after this weekend, she said she would try to be around more and so far she's stuck to it.
The crowd was a lot more bigger, usually our games weren't as big but today was different. All of us were in our red cheer uniforms with our half up half down hairdo.
I tried to hold back on my plan with getting back at Kate, just for this week. I had other, more important things to focus on than her.
"I'll be right back." Kate suddenly stands but I grab her arm.
"You can't just leave right now. We're almost about to go on." I told her and she looked almost irritated.
"I'll only be a second." She replied dryly and I let go of her.
I follow her with my eyes, I watch as she walks up to Leah right near the fences. My eyes narrow at the interaction. Great. They talk. I roll my eyes, assuming that they now had something to bond over on how much they hate me.
I make myself look away once I notice Jude's presence as he approached Kate. The loud cheering of the crowd snaps my attention back to the field and suddenly the other girls stand up.
I look over to see Kate now running over here.
"You know, you really shouldn't have bothered joining the team if you didn't want to be here." I couldn't help myself saying once she got here.
"I want to be here just as much as you do." When I look at her she smiles, nudging my elbow before shaking her Pom poms.
The only thing holding me back from dragging her by her ponytail was the fact that I would probably get her back with a more well thought out plan. I knew I'd find something on her that I could use against her. She used to tell me everything too.
When I look behind me at the crowd, I noticed Reggie, mom and Nonna all seated on the furthest bleachers at the top. Nonna is cheering at the top of her lungs and I hadn't even performed yet.
A few minutes later, it was finally our time to get on the field to perform our short five minute routine. It was only five minutes but it was a very fast pace routine with a lot of flips.
