Ignoring his words entirely, the little piglet continued to puff its nose and snort, leaving Dawson Lin at a loss. He had no idea what was wrong with the little meatball in his arms. Unable to figure it out, he eventually placed the little creature on the ground.
As soon as the little meatball touched the ground, it shot off toward the left front at an incredible speed, so fast that even Dawson Lin was shocked and couldn't hesitate for a second. He immediately chased after it. Though he'd only known the little creature for a few days, Dawson Lin had grown quite fond of it.
The further Dawson Lin chased, the more shocked he became. The speed of the little meatball was astonishing. Even with the massive black sword on his back, he could barely keep up. Dawson Lin couldn't understand it—this little creature, which had always been sleepy and lazy, seemed to have undergone a drastic change. What on earth was going on?
The little meatball ran ahead, and Dawson Lin followed. Time passed, and the sky gradually began to lighten. Unknowingly, the pair had arrived at the entrance of a large, black cave.
Whoosh! Before Dawson Lin could react, the little meatball leapt and disappeared into the cave. He was startled—he didn't know if there was any danger inside the cave, but the little meatball had rushed in without hesitation. After all, they were in the second layer of the Mysterious Mountain Range, where one could encounter second-tier spirit beasts at any time.
Ever since Dawson Lin had obtained the little meatball, he had come to a tragic realization: the little creature wasn't even a first-tier spirit beast—it was just a magical beast with no real strength, only a tendency to sleep.
"Damn it, when I catch you, I'll spank your little butt," Dawson Lin muttered helplessly, shaking his head. He couldn't just leave the little meatball behind, could he? With no other choice, he jumped into the cave after it.
Inside the cave, there was a long, pitch-black tunnel, about ten meters high and nearly eight meters wide. From the outside, one couldn't imagine the tunnel would be so spacious. It was wide enough that even an elephant could walk through it comfortably.
Dawson Lin didn't have time to marvel at the vastness of the tunnel. His mind was preoccupied with worrying about the little meatball, so he moved quickly, taking several rapid steps. After about half an hour, a glimmer of light appeared in front of him, and soon, Dawson Lin found himself in a massive cavern.
The entire cavern was enormous, roughly the size of a small soccer field. Before Dawson Lin could properly observe his surroundings, his gaze froze. At the far end of the cavern lay a massive creature, resembling a small mountain. Its body was covered in dark scales, with spikes protruding from its skin.
Upon seeing this creature, Dawson Lin's first thought was a dragon. It reminded him of the dragons he had seen in Jurassic Park on Earth. While the appearance of this creature wasn't exactly like the dragons he remembered, Dawson Lin was certain—this was a giant dragon. He swallowed hard. He never expected that the little meatball would lead him straight into the dragon's lair.
"Damn it!" Seeing the little meatball head toward the dragon, Dawson Lin couldn't help but curse. While he had always wanted to see a dragon and was eager to obtain dragon blood for making Spirit-Connecting Pills, which required dragon blood to work effectively, seeing the dragon in person terrified him.
Dawson Lin couldn't understand. This was the second layer of the Mysterious Mountain Range, where the strongest creatures were supposed to be high-level second-tier spirit beasts. But this giant dragon? Dawson Lin was certain it wasn't a second-tier spirit beast. It had to be at least a fifth-tier legendary spirit beast.
