I am so sorry for the pate update and even shorter chapter. I've been wrapped up in BTS concerts and getting tickets to KCON with a friend. Don't worry, expect longer chapters when I publish the rewritten version. Three more chapters til' the end, then Book 2 will begin. I know that its a rather short book, but the rewritten version will contain 30 to 40 chapters.....probably. So bear with me.

"What are you?" I was utterly horrified as I crouched over Leah, protectively, watching Theo morph back into the little boy I came to know.

"That would be your reaper." Luca walked in casually, as if this was an everyday thing. He ruffled Theo's hair, muttering "good job" over Theo's laughter.

"My reaper?" I asked, interrupting the two's bonding moment. I thought there was only one reaper in existence- me.

"You're the Grim Reaper, Death." Theo explained, clearly reading my thoughts. "You have others that work under you. It's like a business hierarchy. You're the CEO while we're your employees."

"There are others?" A bubble of excitement escaped my lips. Theo furrowed his brow, eyeing Luca, obviously comptemplating how much to tell me.

"Yes, they harvest souls of the dead. Like yourself and Theo, souls meant for Heaven go to you, while the rest of the reapers reap the souls meant for Hell." Luca cut in, crossing his arms, his hair falling over his eyes. My finger itched to push it back in place.

"How, he's just a little boy?" I sized him up, he was so sweet and innocent,...yet deadly.

"He's been a youth since the time of George Washington." Luca patted his back proudly and my insides melted.

"The red coats are coming, the red coats are coming." Theo galloped around the room, on an invisible horse.

"So why is he stuck in that form and not an adult or a really old man?" I asked.

"In this form, you did not suspect a thing at all, he used your maternal instincts to remain anonymous. He's quite intelligent beyond his years, he just doesn't want to make you feel insecure."

Well he just called me dumb.....

"Where will he be staying, now?" I asked thinking back to that little boy from the soup kitchen.

"With me of course." Luca answered, raising an eyebrow.

"I beg to differ, he's staying with me." I argued, looking to Theo for conformation, in which he nodded.

"Well I guess we're roomies then." Luca stated, his eyes lighting with amusement.

"Excuse me?"

"Did you know?" He moved to my side of the room, picking up Leah, bridal style. "We come as a package deal."
