JUNE
💋Draculaura💋
The idea for a June wedding had been completely my idea. I didn't want to be wed in a church. I wanted it outside. And during that time, I wanted it to be warm. It was why we chose early June. The summer sun of the mid-west hadn't decided to punish us with ungodly rays yet. So far, the sun was rather mellow. It wasn't hiding behind the clouds, but it wasn't sweltering anybody. It was nice. I was nervous, but things should work out.
It was evening. The area where I would give my vows would be facing the sunset when it finally came along. Pink rose petals were spread down the aisle that I would soon walk down. They were slightly damp, something that would prevent a horrible crunching sound as the sharp heels of my light pink shoes dug into them.
The guests consisted of my remaining family, all of Clawd's family, and our few friends - as well as their families.
"D?" Clawdeen asked. I shifted my gaze to the mirror in front of me. Sure, I couldn't see myself, but I could see her and Lagoona. Cleo and Howleen. Ghoulia and Frankie. They were all teary-eyed. "Are you okay?" she asked.
Slowly, I nodded. I couldn't see the smile that spread across my face, but I could certainly feel it. "I'm great," I said.
"Nervous?" Cleo asked.
"Extremely," I whispered.
Lagoona's hands touched my bare shoulders. "Once you see him, that nervousness will go away. Instead? It'll be replaced with the love you feel for him."

"You know, it's not too late to back out," Heath said. "We can just leave," he added, dusting a hand down the sleeve of my white tux - the white that was supposed to match Laura's dress.
"Thanks," I muttered as I tugged on the knot of my tie. It was a soft pink - one that supposedly matched an accent on her dress. It had all been Clawdeen. She had helped with the color coordination thing. I had simply taken her word for it, hoping she wouldn't purposely ruin my wedding to the only woman I loved more than my own family.
"Ignore him," Deuce said. He pulled my hand away from my tie. "Calm down, okay? You're fine," he said.
The door opened. I looked up. "How're we doing?" Howleen asked.
"Fine," Romulus piped up. "You look amazing, Leena," he said softly.
I reached out and smacked his arm. "I don't care that you're a thing. Eyes off," I said. He grinned, holding his hands up in mock innocence.
Howleen smiled at me, white fangs gleaming. "I hope you're ready for your heart to stop, big brother. She's absolutely breathtaking," she said.
I readjusted the tie. Again. "Well, she doesn't need makeup or a dress to make my heart stop," I said. The 'aww' from Romulus and Heath earned them both a hard jab to the gut. "How is she?" I asked.
"Nervous. We can't find the necklace her mother gave her when she was little. She refuses to walk out without it," Howleen said.
"That the diamond one? Little pink sapphires?" I asked. She nodded. "Grabbed it this morning before I left the house. I knew she'd want it," I said, holding the soft velvet box out to my sister.
She grabbed it and laughed in relief. "Thanks, big brother."
"Mmhmm."
She ran a hand down my chest in inspection. "You look great. Maybe you'll stop her heart, too. Even if it isn't beating," she said. I smiled and pressed a kiss to her forehead before she scampered out of the room, shutting the door behind her.
