THOMAS SHEPHERD
SPEED

"Okay, this is bad." Tommy murmured, absolutely disgusted and confused at the sight in front of him.

This girl - his cellmate - had been bleeding out on their floor for the past ten minutes. She was probably going to die. And, strangely, he felt terrible about it.

Tommy was extremely neurodivergent. He didn't have feelings. He didn't do love or family. He just made jokes and trouble.

"Are you guys gonna help her!" He yelled, aware that there was surveillance in the room. All of the cells must have had surveillance, given he just got to witness a woman die over live surveillance footage.

The girl was going in and out of consciousness. Tommy didn't have bandages or any medical supplies to truly assist her.

However, he did watch a medical show a few months ago. It was right after he got discharged from juvy... and needless to say, it was a more confusing era of his life. Nonetheless, he saw some dude on there utilize the cloth of his t-shirt to wrap an open wound.

Swiftly, Thomas tugged at his jumpsuit. He ripped a piece of it off, then sat down next to her. He'd been previously been kneeling next to her, and even attempted to apply pressure to the wound. However, the mass amount of blood that was being produced had made him extremely lightheaded.

"Ummm, okay." He said to himself with an unsure tone. Warily, he slightly lifted her torso off the tile beneath her. As he held her up, he slid the cloth of his prison suit underneath her lower back, then gently lowered her onto it. It took him a moment to remember what to do next.

There was a piece of him absolutely disgusted by his kindness. It wasn't in the shameful way, but in a way that sort of dumbfounded his inner-consciousness. He'd convinced himself previously that he didn't have a soul.

Thomas took the two sides of the cloth into his hands, then wrapped it around her abdomen. It took him a moment to remember how to tie a knot, but he eventually got around to it. Maybe, this experience had convinced his soul to decide to awaken itself.

"Thank you." the girl beneath him whispered softly. As mentioned, she was in and out of consciousness. She'd worked up the strength to cough out a few words of gratitude... just for... him?

"Sssure." he replied. Was this a "You're Welcome" moment? He didn't know. He most likely never would.

"Where are we?" she spoke once more. Tommy could tell it was painful for her to speak.

"Be quiet." he requested swiftly. She glared at him, and he paused. Maybe that sounded mean. "It hurts to talk, so don't talk." he furthered.

  "Okay..." she side-eyed him.

"I'm sorry. To preface, purity's never been one of my strong suits." he explained. "If I had to take a guess, we're probably in juvy. I've been there before. I must say, the one I went to was slightly more pleasant than this one though."

"Juvy?" she echoed softly, discarding his quick chatter and jumpiness. No - she knew they weren't in juvy. They were in the sewers. Further, wherever Billy led her to in the sewers. "Sewer Juvy?"
