the faint police siren sounds swam into the living room through the broken window, a constant reminder of the events that occurred all in one night.

a little while after the men were cleaned up, the police finally arrived—fashionably late, of course—to help. it turned out that you, amaya, miura, and suzuki weren't the only girls getting kidnapped. the kidnappers had a whole organization and jobs commissioned by the rich who wanted people for labor, pleasure, money, and more, whose operations extended to even the other towns surrounding the one you resided in. the officers said that they would investigate further into the thing, but that probably wasn't true since most of the police people were incompetent guys. whatever, that isn't bofurin's responsibility now.

at least amaya and miura were safely returned to their homes. they even exchanged numbers with you, hoping to stay friends, which you happily accepted.

"alright, everything's settled!" umemiya's voice was booming. he strode into your home through the open door, startling the people in the room, which were most of the reinforcements, kaji, kusumi, enomoto, lana, and tsumuji.

despite everything being over, the sense of intense victory that had washed over all of you moments ago had already melted away, replaced by a calm, carefree atmosphere.

you sat on the couch with a tissue box at the side, helplessly watching kaji apply medical whatevers to your wrists, since the tight ropes against your skin from before had bruised it. you had refused to let him do it, but he insisted.

"g-guys! the food's here!" anzai came in, along with sugishita, kakiuchi, takanashi, kurita all holding plastic bags and boxes of snacks and drinks from saboten bakery, muscle power, cactus bakery, and the tonpu market street. the kind first years had offered to go get some food for everyone because most were hungry from fighting.

your classmates and senpais cheered, immediately rushing to help distribute the things umemiya and hiragi had thankfully paid for. it was kind of just fuzzy for you, like everything was moving so fast. it was loud, cheerful, and kenichi even brought a party popper just for silly and sprinkled confetti everywhere with akemi, even though fuyuto scolded them because the sparkles were getting into the food. it felt fuzzy—the good kind.

"y/n! let's play overcooked!" lana said, smiling brightly at you as tsumuji tossed a controller landing perfectly in your lap.

a smile crawled into your expression, your hands reflexively taking the red switch controller. the scene of people eating, talking, and having fun played out chaotically in front of you. sugishita, kakiuchi, and anzai were arguing by your window, probably telling the long-haired ravenette boy that you can't fix a window with duct tape.

before you could say anything, a warm body collided with yours to hug you, strands of beautiful brown hair running past your vision. "are you okay? oh my gosh, y/n..."

you let out a soft huff of laughter, hugging kotoha back. she was younger than you by about a year, but she always acted like an older sister to you. "i'm fine, kotoha."

she pulled away, keeping her hands on your shoulders. "umemiya just came up to me and told me everything in such a calm voice! god, that idiot...this is really serious, you know?" she said, her voice laced with a worried but thankful tone. "be more careful, okay? first, you cut yourself with a knife, and now you get kidnapped..."

"i'm really okay, kotoha! thank you," you replied, smiling.

her deep brown eyes showed a care she always portrayed whenever you got in trouble. "you're such a problem child."

"hahah..." you spotted a plastic bag at her side, widening your eyes.

"yep, this is for you!" she picked it up and shoved it into your arms, making you almost drop the nintendo switch controller. "eat up, kidnapped girl!"
