Chapter XLIV: Acidic Vengeance

The docks were quiet tonight as the Yacht's owner got off. He stroked his black mustache and walked up the wooden stairs to exit the docks when he heard three pairs of feet ahead of him. He looked up and locked eyes with Nagant. "Hello, Mr. Yakimura. I'm with the HPSC."

He straightened up and observed the three of them. The pink girl ignored his presence and glared toward his yacht while the boy did the same. 'Is that the boy from the Sports Festival?' "Did you need something?"

"Yeah, is there something you'd like to confess to?"

The man stiffened up, 'Did they find out I've been avoiding taxes with my yacht?! Wait... the HPSC wouldn't come for me if that was the case.' He relaxed and raised a brow, "No? What's the issue?"

"Your Yacht has been used as a shelter for felons for the past week at least." She crossed her arms and he internally sighed in relief.

'Thank God it's not the taxes... wait, that's still pretty bad." His eyes went wide, "Are you kidding me?"

Nagant narrowed her eyes, analyzing him. 'He could be lying... but they really could have stayed hidden this whole time too. This Yacht is basically the size of a cruise ship. Either way, he can be dealt with another day.' "No, I'd suggest you sleep somewhere else tonight. Things could get messy when we find these people."

"Wait, you can't just—"

Nagant held up a paper to his face, "We have a warrant already. This is for your own safety. Don't make this difficult."

He read the paper and grumbled, eventually walking away. The trio approached the large Yacht and Nagant asked, "Before we go, Mina, are you sure you want to do this? Me and Sasuke could take care of this ourselves."

Mina stared into her eyes, "I've never been more sure of anything in my life."

They wordlessly continued up the ramp, observing their surroundings. Sasuke gripped his blade tightly and Mina had a permanent glare adorning her face. Nagant stated, "We shouldn't rule out the possibility that they could get the jump on us. They're more familiar with this boat than us. And make sure you two stick by my side. The HPSC can help cover up your involvement, but that wouldn't matter if one of you got hurt too badly on my watch."

They nodded and went down the stairs into the Yacht's interior. All the lights were on and they came across a bar. Sasuke thought, 'This will definitely be a trap. I just have to be ready for that moment,' "Let me take the front. Trust me."

Nagant nodded, giving him way, and he walked to a path leading further into the ship when he noticed a strange glint near the floor. He peered his eyes closer and saw that it was a wire. He didn't visually react and gripped his sword tighter as he stared at his two companions and gestured toward the wire. They nodded and he purposely walked into it.

The moment he set off the wire, he covered everyone in his V3 Susanoo as frag grenades flew from the bar at them. Everyone got into fighting positions and Nagant yelled, "Stay C—

— Black tendrils shot up through the wooden floor and wrapped around her, pulling her through the floor into darkness. "Nagant!" Sasuke ran to the hole, but a Nomu went through the hole and uppercut him through the roof, sending him back on the deck up top.

Mina yelled, "Sasuke!"

On the deck, Sasuke quickly recovered and rolled out the way of a Nomu punching through the wooden floor. "So this is the asshole we gotta kill? How'd you fail the first time?"

Sasuke searched for the source of the voice and saw a white-haired man leaning on the guardrail next to a large man in black clothing with a metal tail on an elevated deck.
