Chapter 7 (Elliot's POV)
I look over her class schedule and work roster, that she has sent me on Facebook. I notice she has a class tomorrow after work... what an annoying day, how can I save her from that? We had an amazing time on the grass hill, she fell asleep on me and memories were shared from our past... how can I top it?
Be simple (I think to myself) why don't I just take her to dinner, yes that will work. Somehow I might bring up a certain question, but how?
The next day I have work at the shop early and I continue to think about my plans for tonight with Katie, I still need to call her and ask her....
After work I pluck up the courage and hope she isn't busy.
She answers on the third ring,
"Um hey, just wondering if you wanted to go out for dinner tonight, with me?" I say as confidently as I can.
There is a pause... but then she answers quickly and with enthusiasm,
"Yeah sure, what time?" She asks
"I will pick you up at 7?" I say into the line.
"Yeah sure, see you then." she says simply and hangs up.
I walk into my bedroom and start thinking of what to wear before turning on the shower. As soon as the water starts running my phone buzzes and I answer Katie's call... Oh no,
"Hey?" I say
"Hey quick question, do you mind if Cole and Dani come with us? Like a double date if you like?" She asks awkwardly.
Double date...hmmm, Cole is a nice guy, we could be mates.
"Yeah sure, my car? I'll still be there at around seven yeah?" I ask
"Sounds good." she says and hangs up once more.
I arrive at their apartment at 6:50 and walk to their door, Cole, Dani and Katie are all ready and we pile into my car. I follow Dani's directions and soon we end up at a Thai restaurant.
I open Katie's door and watch her shiver once as she steps out, its autumn and she hasn't brought a jumper.
It's warmer once we are inside and I pull the chair out for my date, as does Cole. Finally a well raised man.
We order and the conversation begins, starting with what I do?
"So Elliot what do you do?" Cole asks me, he must feel some sought of protection over Katie?
"After high school I began working for my dad's old company, so I guess you could say I make and engrave watches and trinkets." I explain, feeling proud about my dad's company.
This topic doesn't continue for much longer, just a small, funny story about a worried mother, before continuing. I find out the Katie works at a juice bar and Cole is studying chemistry at UNI...smart guy.
We step outside once deciding to leave and Katie's arms are covered in goose bumps, she brings them around her but I go one better and offer her my jacket. She puts it on gratefully and gets in the car.
However back at their apartment Katie and I don't stay long due to sexual noises escaping from Dani's bedroom shortly after we get back.
We leave the coffee Katie has just prepared and go for a walk to get ice-cream. I pay and she leads me to a nearby field, with one tree, this is my opportunity.
"So how has your night been?" I ask worried.
"My only complaint is that it is too cold." She laughs and I zip the zipper on my jacket, keeping her warm.
"So Kitty, Can I call you that again?" I ask with a slight laugh.
"I am no longer 7 Elliot, I rarely get called Katie Kat anymore." she says and this surprises me, looking at her Facebook page she is still a child at heart, with all of her Disney likes.
"Well alright then how about I introduce you to my mates as my girlfriend then?" I try to sound as confident as I can
"When am I ever going to meet your mates?"
"Well you will if you come to the Club with me next weekend?"
"Hmm I will think about it..." She finishes and i fell like I have just been punched.
"Ok let me know"
"I don't really go out much you see, but I guess you could introduce me as that in any other circumstance." her blush is obvious and I smile.
"Really, you will go out with me?"
"Elliot we have already been on two dates, I have known you since I was born, you're a gentleman and I know my parents and Dani for that matter will approve." she winks and I feel a sudden erg to kiss her.
She looks deep in thought but I tilt her head, look into those, blue/grey eyes and kiss her.
She blushes and we walk back to the apartment, I kiss her once more and make my depart, back to my car. The three hour drive back home is grueling and I keep the heater on, noting that she still has my jacket.
