Ae Cha's POV
"Don't be mad at me." I said softly, my voice barely audible over the tension in the room. The boys surrounded me, their expressions a mix of confusion, disappointment, and sheer disbelief.
"Mad? I'm beyond fucking dumbstruck." Namjoon growled, his voice sharp with frustration. His hands flailed in exasperation, each motion wild and dramatic, emphasizing every word with an energy I'd only seen a handful of times before. Usually, it was reserved for one of the guys when they'd done something ridiculous. This time, though, the lecture was aimed squarely at me—a position I'd never found myself in before.
I wasn't the one who caused problems. I kept to myself, showed up on time, and did what was expected of me. I prided myself on being a good member, someone the group could depend on. But today, I had crossed a line. I'd blindsided them all.
Jungkook stood off to the side, mirroring Hoseok's expression—both of them frozen in wide-eyed confusion. Their lips quirked, brows furrowed, silent as they locked eyes on the small frame beside me. Yoongi, ever the voice of reason, murmured soft attempts to calm Namjoon down, but it was no use. Namjoon was pacing now, his words spilling out in fragmented sentences, his rapper's cadence making each unfinished thought sound like a lyric to an unrelenting beat. Taehyung leaned against the wall, his body language screaming disinterest, as though he'd rather be playing his games. Jin and Jimin sat nearby, their exhaustion evident—they looked like they'd been dragged into something they didn't have the energy to care about.
And me? I stood there, silent, knowing I'd set all of this in motion. I hadn't given them a heads-up, hadn't explained anything. I'd simply brought Kyong into their dorm, unannounced, with no warning or context. Two days ago, I hadn't even spoken to her in years. Her sudden reappearance had caught me off guard as much as anyone.
I'd been suspicious at first, wary of her intentions. After all, Kyong's past actions had been painful—her choices had cut deep, leaving scars I thought would never heal. But over the last forty-eight hours, I'd come to understand her. She'd acted out of self-preservation, protecting herself and, in her own way, others. I believed in her now. I trusted her. I had done the same thing once before, regarding my past and my current feelings for a certain - thick-headed someone.
The boys, however, were a harder sell. They weren't swayed as easily. I'd known that explaining everything to them would be difficult, and I'd been putting it off, hoping to wait until all the pieces were in place. I just hadn't expected things to escalate like this.
I swallowed hard, stealing a glance at Kyong, who stood quietly by the door, her presence an undeniable weight in the room. I hadn't realized how much of a ripple this would cause—how bringing her here, without so much as a word of preparation, would ignite this storm.
But now it was too late. The damage was done, and the fallout was mine to face.
Namjoon stopped pacing and planted himself in front of me, his arms crossed over his chest. His expression was a mix of irritation and bewilderment. "You've been sneaking her around behind our backs for days?" he asked, his tone sharp but not quite as explosive as before. "How long were you planning on keeping this a secret?" "I wasn't sneaking her around." I said defensively, though it was a weak excuse, and we all knew it. "I just...needed time to figure things out."
"Figure what out?" Jungkook cut in, his voice softer but still carrying a note of confusion. Who now leaned against the wall with Taehyung, his wide eyes locked on me. "She's been out of our lives for years, and suddenly she's back? Just like that?"
"And you're the one who told us not to care about her anymore." Hoseok added, his tone a bit incredulous but still calm. "I mean, remember what you said? 'Screw her. We don't need her.' Those were your words." I winced, rubbing the back of my neck. I really didnt needed that refresher right now, especially with Kyong standing literally at my side. "Yeah, I know. I know what I said, okay? But things are...different now."
