Rian burst into the police station, his steps echoing against the cold tiled floor. His face was a mask of determination, his jaw clenched tight as he approached the front desk. The officer on duty barely had time to look up before Rian slammed his hands on the counter, his voice sharp and commanding.

"Have you cracked it yet? The phone call that threatened Mi-hee? Who was behind it?"

The officer hesitated for a moment, sensing the fire in Rian’s gaze. Then, with a slow nod, he replied, "Yes, we know who it is."

Rian’s heart pounded in his chest as he leaned closer, his voice dropping to a growl. "Then tell me."

..

Rian straightened, his frustration barely contained. He didn’t wait for more words. He turned on his heel, storming out of the station.

The party was already in full swing by the time Rian arrived. The bass of the music thumped in his chest, the air thick with cigarette smoke and the sharp tang of alcohol. He stepped into the dimly lit room, a wooden bat clutched tightly in his hand.

His presence was like a dark storm, suffocating and magnetic. Heads turned, conversations stilled, and whispers rippled through the crowd. His black coat hung loose over his shoulders, his hair disheveled, and his eyes burning with an intensity that made the air crackle. He was having a party after trying to kill another person? Fuck him.

Yunseok, perched casually on a leather couch with a drink in hand, brightened up at the sight of him. He smirked, raising his glass in a mocking salute. "Rian! Didn’t think you’d show. Come to enjoy the party?"

Rian didn’t answer. His lips curled into a smirk of his own, one that promised nothing but chaos. He swung the bat once, testing its weight, before taking a deliberate step toward Yunseok.

The room collectively held its breath as Rian’s voice cut through the noise like a blade. "You think you can get away with trying to kill someone?" His words were venom, sharp and dripping with hatred.

Yunseok’s smile faltered, his confidence wavering. "What are you talking about? You’re not making any sense."

Rian didn’t give him time to explain. With a powerful swing, the bat came down on the coffee table in front of Yunseok, shattering glass and sending drinks flying. The crowd erupted into screams as people stumbled over each other to get away.

"You think this is a game, huh?" Rian’s voice rose, a growl of pure rage. He swung the bat again, this time catching the edge of the couch Yunseok was sitting on, sending him sprawling to the ground.

"Rian, stop!" someone shouted, but he was beyond reason.

Yunseok scrambled back, his face pale. "I didn’t— I didn’t do anything!" he stammered, but Rian loomed over him, the bat raised high.

Before he could bring it down, the sound of sirens pierced the chaos. Police officers stormed into the party, their voices booming as they ordered everyone to stay where they were. The once-lively party descended into chaos as the underage drinkers and drug users tried to scatter.

Two officers grabbed Rian from behind, pulling him away from Yunseok as he thrashed against their hold. His bat clattered to the floor, but his eyes never left Yunseok, who was now being handcuffed alongside other minors attempting to flee.

"You think this ends here?" Rian yelled, his voice raw with anger as the officers restrained him. "You’re done, Yunseok. You hear me? Done."

The scene was a mess of flashing lights, panicked teenagers, and police officers corralling the partygoers. Yunseok, now cuffed and pale, shot a glare at Rian as he was led away. But Rian didn’t care. He had made his point.

Yunseok, pale and trembling, was handcuffed alongside several other minors caught in possession of drugs and alcohol. The scene devolved into chaos as the remaining students were dragged out, their protests drowned out by the authoritative shouts of the police.

As Yunseok was led away, his head hung low, Rian stood frozen, breathing heavily. His bat slipped from his fingers, clattering to the ground. The officers released him but kept a wary eye on him as they finished rounding up the students.

Rian’s chest heaved as he watched Yunseok being shoved into a police car. His fury simmered, but beneath it, a hollow ache settled in his chest. This wasn’t over. Not until everyone responsible for Mi-hee’s pain paid the price.

The night air was cold as Rian was finally released by the officers, his rage still simmering beneath his skin. He watched as the once-mighty red ties were escorted away, their empire crumbling under the weight of their own arrogance. And for the first time in a long while, Rian felt a sliver of satisfaction.

And he realized what Mi-hee meant. To be on the receiving end? That felt pathetic.
