The event hall of the hotel had been cleared to make space for the day's rehearsal. All the furniture was pushed to one side, creating a large open area. The soft carpet beneath our feet was a muted cream, adding a touch of warmth to the otherwise empty room. On one wall, a large foldable mirror had been set up, reflecting the space and giving the performers a clear view of their movements as they practiced. The simplicity of the setup allowed the room to feel spacious and focused.

The staff was busy setting up the sound system, testing the speakers, and ensuring everything was ready for the practice. Jessica sat on one of the chairs, looking comfortable in her maternity clothes, nibbling on grapes as she gently patted her small baby bump. I stood beside her, watching the preparations unfold. Jihoon and Arc were deep in conversation, discussing some of the finer details for the rehearsal.

Just then, the door opened, and the choreographer, Dave, entered with his team of five dancers. Their arrival brought a sense of anticipation into the room. Jihoon immediately stood to greet them, introducing Dave to Arc. They exchanged polite hellos before Dave and his team gathered around us. The room hummed with a quiet energy as everyone prepared for the day ahead.

Jessica put down the bowl of grapes and quickly shifted into her role as translator, her attention now fully on the conversation unfolding. Arc began explaining his vision for the theme of the performance, his words coming out slowly but clearly, as he articulated the concept behind the song. His hands moved animatedly, gesturing to emphasize the emotions he wanted to convey.

Dave listened intently, nodding as Arc explained. With Jessica translating, Arc's ideas were clearly understood, and Dave began discussing how the choreography could complement the song's mood. Jihoon, standing off to the side, pulled up the concert venue on his tablet. He showed it to both Arc and Dave, pointing out key areas of the stage and giving them an idea of the space they had to work with.

The discussion shifted from the overall vision of the performance to the details of the choreography, as Dave and his team began bouncing ideas off each other. Arc asked for specific moves to highlight certain parts of the song, while Dave suggested modifications to ensure the dance was both visually striking and in sync with the song's rhythm. They continued to work through the ideas back and forth, adjusting and refining as they went along. It was clear that both Arc and Dave were determined to make this performance stand out, each contributing their expertise to make the vision come to life.

Soon, the dancers began demonstrating the choreography under Dave's supervision. With smooth, practiced movements, they showed Arc the steps one by one, making sure to break down each section clearly. Arc watched intently, nodding as he absorbed the sequence. Once he felt comfortable, he stepped into the middle of the room, ready to give the dance a try himself.

With a few deep breaths, Arc started mimicking the steps, following the rhythm of the music. His movements were a little stiff at first, but as he got into the flow, his confidence grew. The process moved along smoothly—Arc quickly adapted to the steps, his body syncing with the beat of the song. He wasn't flawless, but it was clear that he was putting in his best effort, determined to master the moves.

Once Arc was confident with the choreography, the backup dancers were called in. They positioned themselves around him, forming a group to practice the routine together. Arc took the lead in the center, directing the energy of the group as they all worked through the steps. With each repetition, the movements became sharper, more fluid, and the routine began to come together. The dancers, working seamlessly together, followed Arc's lead, their synchronized movements filling the room with a palpable energy.

Throughout the choreography, Jessica remained actively engaged, handling the translation with ease. She moved between Dave and Arc, ensuring that communication was smooth and that any adjustments or feedback were clearly conveyed. Her steady presence allowed the session to flow without interruption, translating quickly between the technical dance instructions and Arc's thoughts or concerns.
