(Sorry for the late and weird chapter, it's really bad... I've been very stressed w/ school. Isn't stuff getting a bit weird... Enjoy reading..)

Alessandro and I walked beside each other down the street. It was oddly quiet for the city that was seemingly always alive, bursting with life. The odd car drove by, shooting a refreshing breeze past me, my hair blowing further out of its ponytail in response. My hands were fiddling with the hem of my shirt, ears catching lines of the boy's conversation every few seconds. We seemed to be in a more secluded area—the rich area.

"How are you liking the penthouse?" Alessandro breaks through the silence, striking a conversation up with me. I look up at him and open my mouth to speak when he places a gentle hand in front of me to pause my walking, the curb almost making me trip. He laughs at my embarrassment.

"It's super nice," I assure him, and nod when he gestures if I'm okay.

"Nice?" He pushes. "I know we haven't had a particularly formal conversation about it, but I have been wondering."

"That's okay." I shake my head, face contorting into a nonchalant expression, eyes squinted shut for a moment. "And, I don't need formal. Formal is... formal."

"Noted." He nods. "But you're liking it, yes? One of your brothers has been especially concerned that you weren't enjoying yourself, though he wouldn't tell me why."

My eyes follow his, landing on Leo. He was laughing with Abraham, shoving one another playfully. He must have felt the pairs of eyes in him because he looked over at me, waving with an even wider grin. I smiled back at him, continuing to focus on walking—or, more specifically, not falling—and Alessandro's conversation.

"He's... yeah." I shrug, sighing. "Leo is really sweet. He checks in on me a lot... more than needed if I'm being honest. I don't mind it though."

Alessandro nods in approval of his brother's actions and waits for me to keep talking.

"I get bored a little, but what's boredom if not motivation?" I say sarcastically, tilting my head.

"What can I do to ease that boredom?" He questions.

"I dunno. You don't need to do anything, I just have to... be less boring. Find some hobbies, learn something new, all that jazz."

He hums, thinking. I don't press on it, and he seems to let the conversation slip away too as we turn a corner. I hear a bell ring and watch as everyone disappears into a store. Its green barred windows contrast with the grey surrounding it, newspapers and magazines taped to the front windows. I catch a glimpse at one of the newspaper headlines.

Incarcerated Former SSA Murdered—

"Get whatever you want." Sandro pats my shoulder, slipping past me.

He grabs a bag of chips from the nearest shelf and stops in front of the chocolate bars, stuck in indecision. I look around at everything. The magazine slips from my view as racks of shelves replace it. For a convenience store, it was incredibly fancy. The checkered tile floor was shining under the bright white lights. The fridges buzzed in the background, distant chatter making it sound quiet.

I inhale a deep breath and walk to the fridges, sliding it open when I see an interesting-looking juice.

"Those are good." One of Leo's friends—Aaron—interrupts my stream of thought.

"Sorry?" I stutter.

"Those," He grabs one of the drinks I was looking at, cracking it open and taking a sip. "Yum."
