Elisa's POV
As soon as we stopped recording, I rushed toward Jenny, untying her restraints and removing the cloth from her mouth. My hands trembled slightly as I searched her face for any signs of pain.
"Are you okay?" I asked, my voice laced with concern. Edmund approached, handing her a bottle of water. She took it with shaky hands, drinking slowly before exhaling a deep breath and nodding.
"Yeah," she whispered, offering me a small but reassuring smile.
"You sure this will work?" she asked hesitantly.
I gave her a soft smile, trying to reassure her. "No mother can stand by and watch her child suffer. She will do anything to protect you, even if it means going against Joan."
Jenny lowered her gaze, her fingers tightening around the bottle. "I just hope Mom doesn't get hurt... and Y/N too."
I understood her concern. This was a dangerous game we were playing—a trap, plain and simple. We had suspected Kira from the moment Y/N was kidnapped. She had tried to call me before she was taken, but Kira had knocked her unconscious before she could say anything. That was all the proof I needed.
Instead of a direct confrontation, which could put Y/N in even more danger, we used Jenny as bait to draw Kira out. It was a calculated risk, but one we were willing to take.
Two hours later
The moment my phone rang, my lips curled into a knowing smile. Kira. Just as expected.
On call...
"Kira. I was expecting your call. So, what do you have to offer?" I asked, my tone deliberately confident, with a hint of mockery.
A pause. Then, her voice, firm yet desperate. "I want my daughter back. Safe and sound. In return, I'll help you."
Bingo.
I smirked, leaning back as I processed her words. "And how do I know I can trust you?"
Another silence. A deep sigh filtered through the speaker. "I'll bring her to you. I'll text you the location. Just meet me there."
I arched a brow, playing along. "Are you saying you're going against Joan?" My voice was teasing, but I needed to hear her say it.
"For Jenny? Yes."
I nodded to myself. "I hope you mean what you say, Kira. Because if anything happens to her, I swear I'll go to any lengths."
"I won't disappoint you."
"You shouldn't," I warned. Then, after a brief pause, I added, "One last question before I hang up. Why did you betray her? She loved you more than anything."
Another silence. For a moment, I thought she wouldn't answer. Then, her voice came, softer this time. "No one will understand... but I never faked my love for her."
And with that, the line went dead.
I let out a slow breath, staring at the phone.
I hope you know what you're doing, Kira. Because if you make another mistake, there won't be a next time. More than that, I hope—just for Y/N's sake—you prove that you truly loved her.

Y/N's POV
Faint footsteps echoed outside the door, growing closer with each passing second. I wanted to react, to prepare myself—but my body refused to obey. Weakness had taken over, leaving me helpless in the suffocating darkness. My eyelids felt unbearably heavy, and despite my efforts to see, the shadows around me remained impenetrable.
