What More Do I Need To Experience?

It was about 6 in the afternoon, and all day I've just been staring at these claw marks. I don't think I've ever questioned something so much in my life, but I just really want to figure out what happened while I was asleep. About ten minutes later, I hear the front door open, and I recognize the one voice that could make me feel safe; Mom was home. "Oh, thank god!" I thought in my head. "Maybe I should tell Mom." I got up and swiftly opened the white door that I had closed all day, but before I could walk down the stairs, I contemplated the reactions I could receive if I just came to Mom and said there was a feral animal in the house last night. I mean, who would believe that? I didn't when Chas said it at first, but I also don't want to end up in a mental hospital like my best friend Kayla did. The first time I saw her after she came back, her personality and mental state had completely changed, and I would preferably not want to go through that. I stood there at the top of the cream colored staircase, just trying to decide if I should say something, but before I could make a final decision, Mom had already noticed me. "Are you okay, honey?" She asked me with a confused face. "Yeah... I'm fine. Just tired, I guess." I completely lied to her. I didn't even look tired, and I'm surprised she believed me. "Well, I need you to do the dishes and clean the dining room table off. We have some visitors visiting tonight and eating dinner with us." Visitors? But who did mom know that wanted to come into our house? Last time we had visitors, it ended up in a huge fight, and ever since, our reputation has been hazed from the argument that landed in the dining room. "Okay. I'll get started on that right now. Just, hold on." I ran  back to my door of my room and quietly closed it, glancing at the claw marks and hoping that Mom wouldn't walk in and reveal my secret. I then quickly went down the steps and ran into the kitchen, starting the dishes. Mom had walked into the dining room and began preparing the table, putting a nice ocean blue cloth on it and a vase of assorted flowers that she just got from the store. I picked up a piece of tupperware. "Hey, Mom.. Who exactly is coming over?" It took her awhile to respond, but she responded. "Just some family friends that you've never met." I questioned it. Family friends I've never met? If she knows I don't know them, why would she invite them here? "Why are they coming over?" I responded hesitantly. "I just thought that maybe we could talk about some things since I haven't seen them in quite some time." I shrugged my shoulders. I guess Mom has her reasons then... Wait, talk about things?

After about 35 minutes of cleaning dishes, I began cleaning the counters and getting things in order. I saw Mom had picked up some nice T-bone steaks from the butcher shop from down the road. There were also pork chops, and some various amounts of vegetables and pastas. The biggest thing that caught my attention was the steaks though. They were very lean, and they looked very juicy. I don't know what was going through my mind, but just the thought of eating raw meat really had my stomach churning. I then shook my head to get out of the thought, and I continued to do my set of chores, but I thought about my previous thoughts. I have NEVER thought about eating raw meat, and enjoying it. Raw meat has never made me so hungry. After about 10 minutes, I did everything I needed to. Mom came in and immediately started working on food, but about 20 minutes after she started cooking, the doorbell rang. "I got it!" I ran to the door excited to see who Mom invited over, but when I opened the wooden door, I wasn't as happy as I was before I opened it. There were two men and one women. They all looked so fancy, wearing suits like they came for a meeting. I moved out of the way. "Come inside." They walked in single file, and they gave me a unusual look when they passed me. They walked through the house like they've been here before, and they all sat at the table Mom made up. Mom walked out of the kitchen and smiled. "Hello. Sorry for the late invitation to dinner." They all looked at each other and the biggest male said with a low voice "It's fine." The women then made a move to say something. "Is this your oldest?" Mom nodded without hesitation. Then the women turned to look at me, but when she looked at me, her eyes turned a goldish color out of nowhere. I jumped slightly backwards, and I noticed the other two's eyes followed her color change. She smiled, and I swear I saw some kind of wolf fangs in her mouth, and they weren't fake. I looked at Mom and then walked back upstairs. "Where are you going, Sal?" I stopped before losing sight of her body. "I'm not hungry, and I don't want to bother you and your friends." I then proceeded to walk upstairs.
The whole time I was in my room, I could hear all the conversations Mom had with those people, and they talked completely normal, but I began to question my vision. Did what I see really happen? It started out a unusual day, and it only gets more and more unusual as every minute passes. I then heard the women say that the dinner was good, and three chairs screeched loudly as they were pushed back on the floor. They didn't stay to talk after getting up, since I heard the door open seconds after they got up. I heard Mom clean up the dining room table and the kitchen, and immediately enter her room, closing her door behind her. I laid on my bed and questioned the whole day and the events that led up to now, and I just couldn't put my finger on what was going on. "What the fuck has this world been doing to me today?" I then cleared my mind and told myself I needed to take a shower. I did have school tomorrow, and it was already 9:30 at night. I got up and gathered the clothes I needed to go take a shower. I quickly made my way into the bathroom, closing the door behind me. I took off my clothes, leaving them by the turquoise lined wall. I turned on the shower and waited for it to warm up. After getting the water at the right temperature, I got in and began washing my hair. I started humming some All Time Low in the process, and the steam really loosened my muscles from all the stress I experienced through the day. After washing my hair, I cleaned my body quickly and washed myself off. I turned off the shower after a 15 minute shower, and I grabbed my towel, drying myself off. I walked in front of the mirror and looked at myself. I froze. "W..What the..What the fuck!?" I dropped my towel as I screamed it. Luckily nobody heard it. I examined my face and teeth. "Why the hell do I have gold eyes and razor sharp canine fangs!?" I quickly put on my pajamas and walked out of the bathroom, almost falling from not watching my step. I walked into my room and closed my door. I turned off my light and made my way into my bed, putting my whole body under the sheets, including my head. I clinched onto my hair on the top of my head, and I closed my eyes. "What is going on with me? What in the actual fuck am I?" I kept freaking out and thinking about what I just saw. "Dear god, help me. I think I'm possessed." I quickly became tired from the adrenaline that flowed throughout my whole body. I almost started crying before I fell asleep, but I was able to hold it back. "I.. I have school. I need sleep. Every person does." I closed my eyes and embraced the darkness of my room to help me sleep. "If I'm even a person.." I whispered to myself before falling asleep.
