I finished talking to Mrs. Chanse after about 20 minutes of wretched explanation of my other problems. She seemed like she didn't care if you want me to be honest with you, but I feel like any counselor is like that when you dig deeper into their head. Kayla, Des, and I walked out of the office, heading to our classes on the right side of the school. I looked over to Kayla, and I saw her whispering to Des. I walk over closer to them, wanting to join the conversation so I didn't feel so left out.

"Hey. What're ya'll talking about?" I said with a fluent southern accent towards them. Destiny looked over and gave me a fearful look for some reason, but I just blew it off. I smiled and Kayla looked at me and tried jumbling words out of her mouth.

"Well, we were just discussing how the counselor reacted to your problems. I was telling Des how it was really nothing she was worrying about. Don't you feel the same?" she asked me, her trying to keep a smile. In that moment, I knew she knew I was telling the truth about being a hybrid of some sort. I then tried to figure out my answer, and to save myself through the trouble of losing the one girl I believe I was in love with, I answered with a nod signaling a yes quickly. Destiny then eased herself, and I saw it. Was that really all I had to say?

Destiny then smiles, but I saw something peculiar about her smile. I believe I saw canines in her teeth, but really sharp ones. I mean, it could have been a figment of my imagination, but all my eyes saw was the same thing. I acted like I wasn't seeing something out of the ordinary, and I smiled back. She moved away from the farthest side of Kayla, and walked beside me. We were almost to Kayla's class to drop her off, and next thing I know, I felt someone's hand intwine with mine. I looked behind me and there's Ryan. I jumped and let go of him. "What're you doing!" I exclaimed, and Destiny and Kayla reacted surprised at the move he just made. I instantly got furiated, and I pushed him away.

"Get you're little dog hands off me!" I said to him. "All you wanted from me is what every guy wants! I don't respect you anymore!" I yelled at him. An AP heard me and came walking around the corner of the hallway, getting in between us. She looked at me. "What's the problem here?" she asked sternly. I calmed myself down to respect the adult, and I said "He's bothering me is all. I don't want him to touch me, or be near me." The AP nodded and looked at Ryan. "Do I need to escort you to your class?" Ryan gave her a dirty look. "I'm not a little kid." he said angrily. "I can find my way around here." He looked at me and said something that got into Kayla and Destiny's heads. "If she wants to call me a dog, she needs to figure out what she is first before she can say that to me." He then walked down the hallway and turned on the hallway a few yards away. The AP walked off directly afterwards from where she came. I sighed and looked over at Destiny to calm me down. She looked disappointed at me. I didn't understand why. "Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked curiously but cautiously. She looked at Kayla and signaled her to leave for privacy with me. Somehow I guess Kayla easily understood what she wanted, and she walked into her classroom with no hesitation. I then looked at Destiny after watching Kayla, and she sighed at me. I waited for a conversation to begin.

"Sal, I know you're going through a confusing time, but I think I know what you're going through." I turned my head to the side in surprisement. Know... what I'm going through? I had a difficult time trying to find the right response. "What do you mean?" I asked shyly. She looked down and chuckled, shaking her head swiftly. She then looked back at me and chuckled softly. "You know. I may have come from Dallas a few days ago, but I have seen this. In fact, a word of advice.." she leaned her head to my ear and softly whispered "..I am what you think you are too." She pulled away and I looked at her. "Y...you think you're a wolf?" I asked. She nodded in return. "But isn't that physically impo-" I was stopped to find some random preppy girl start telling me that I was talking trash about her. This turn of events surprised Destiny, but not so much me. We always get random fights going in this school for no reason. I looked at the girl and told her we would go outside to figure this mess out, and I'm surprised that she agreed with it.

Me, Des, and this random girl walked outside where nobody could see us. I would rather not get in trouble for some unnecessary drama getting started with me. I wasn't even scared to fight this girl. She was about 5'4, blonde, skinny, almost bone skinny, and she clearly had booty jeans on, as well as a suffocating shirt to expose and enlarge her chest. She kept telling and yelling at me for supposable rumors going around about her thay I started. I looked over at Destiny a few times, but all I could see was anger being progressively built up over some chick who wanted to start stuff.

Finally, this girl started squaring up to fight, and I had no problem fighting back, so I squared up too. She kept saying I was going to lose and this and that, but I was pretty sure I wasn't. I looked over at Destiny, and next thing I know, she pounced on the girl punching her one after another. I was in shock watching this. I tried pulling her off but she when I looked over her shoulder to see her punching, I saw her clawing this chick instead. It made me worry, and then I felt a burst of strength pull her off. The girl was bleeding all over, and I looked at Des shocked at her actions. "W..what is this? Are you okay?" I said to the both of them. Des nodded, but the other girl, she was hurt... bad. I didn't know what to do, so I led the other girl to the bathroom holding her arm, and Des just followed behind us still furiated. I opened the door to the girls bathroom and let the opponent in by herself. I freaked out instantly, and I started running to the parking lot, wanting to go home instead of back to class. Destiny followed and chased mr down until I got to my car. I was panting heavily, and Destiny turned me around and pinned me to the car by my wrists with her hands. "Don't you say anything about this. This is between us, and knowing that girl, she's going to say something." She paused for a second. "We need to stay together and not come to school for a few days. We will call in and say we have the flu, and after that, we stay in one spot... together. I just exposed us in a way that can get us killed." She let me go and allowed me to unlock the car, letting is both in. I turned it on, then drove out the intended exit from the lot.

"Do I need to take you by your place to get clothes for you? My mom won't mind you staying over for a few days. " Des nodded. We drove to her house and she came back to the car in 10 minutes with who knows how many bags. "I said a few days, not weeks." She chuckled. "I don't think you understand that we need to skip school for awhile after what just happened." I sighed and then has an important question. "Well, does your mom know this?" She chuckles and looks out the window of the car.

"My mom knows I leave all the time. Sometimes at night, other during the day. It's just.. natural for me, especially at night. She's okay with it though. It helps me survive."

I thought about what she just said and felt fear. What have I just accepted to stay with me? We got to my house in no time, and I hurried getting Destiny's and my stuff in the house. I go to unlock the door and sniffle, dropping a tear knowing that I won't find my sister inside to welcome me. Destiny hugged me from behind and kisses my cheek. "I don't know what's going on, but I love you. Just know that." I felt my heart flutter. S...she just said she loved me. I unlock the door with a weak hand, and I open the door to find my mother in the backyard butchering up a dead deer. I see teeth marks in its neck, and it looks fresh. Des stands behind me holding my hand now, and mom looks my way when I close the door. "Uhmm, mom. What is this?" I asked fearfully. Mom doesn't hunt, only Dad does, and this struck fear in my body seeing it. Mom smiled at me while holding a large butcher knife.

"Honey. Say hello to your dinner tonight."
