Some said that Prince Jacaerys Velaryon was completely incapable of admitting when he was wrong. Others, however, claimed that he needed a very strong push to open his eyes. In most cases, it was his younger brother, Luke, who managed to make him reconsider, confronting him with the clarity and bluntness that few dared to offer.

"I SHOULDN'T BE listening to you, Luke. You're younger. What are you doing giving me orders?" Jacaerys said, frustrated, as Lucerys dragged him by the arm through the halls of the Red Keep.
"Ever since you humiliated yourself and me," Luke responded sharply, refusing to let go. "You've lost the right to question me."
"I wasn't drunk, and what I said was true. Nathearys deserved it. You know the letters are real," Jace insisted, visible irritation etched on his face.
"I know which letters were sent, Jace, but you saw her look of confusion. Maybe she really didn't receive them," Lucerys replied, trying to keep his calm.
"She just knows how to lie and pretend, Luke. Don't be so naïve."
"But she was so right in something, you're an unbearable fool," Lucerys said with a scoff, stopping to face his brother. "I don't understand your attitude. Nathearys has always been kind to you, too kind, and you've only treated her with indifference. But you don't fool me, Jace. I know you. You're hiding something under all that pride—and it's that you're attracted to her."
