I had to get Caroline out of the house. If I didn't I was going to die by cardiac arrest or aging prematurely. She was going to be the cause of my death, mark my words.

My death certificate would actually say cause of death, Mr. Changrett's pregnant mate.

She refused after a few weeks to stay in bed or keep her feet up. I couldn't take calls or meetings in my office anymore or even leave the house without having to hunt her down and put her back into bed.

To add insult to injury I couldn't carry her anymore.

I'd either get a call from staff or my ma saying she was up and doing something strenuous in the house.

I'd even caught her climbing up on a ladder as it rattled around.

She didn't like the doctor's orders of bedrest taking it more like a suggestion then an order for her health.

She'd fight me like a badger too. First she tried crying, then when I realized what she was doing, we were back to fussing, fighting and arguing. This woman could argue like an Italian.

To preserve our relationship and my life, I told her to get dressed when we were going out. I couldn't be in the house any longer and I was hoping for a nice diner. Some music might be a good way to spoil her and keep her off her feet.

I left the bedroom before she could argue with me about going out, where we were going or why.

I adjusted my jacket and scarf near the entry door just in time to see her dressed up, her hair and make up artfully done. She looked like a cream and gilded dream coming down those red carpeted stairs.

Her grin though, that was my favorite thing to see her wearing. I'd never seen a woman with a more beautiful smile.

"I look like a marshmallow." She stood in front of me looking more beautiful than she'd ever had. I almost couldn't reply. She looked like an angel.

"A cute marshmallow." I winced outwardly at Mateo's stupidity. Really? You never agreed when a woman said something like that.

"There is a reason you aint married or mated Mateo."

Caroline stood shocked and then she started laughing. Thank God, I could take anymore of her hormonal rage. I'd lock her in a room with Mateo, see who would walk out of the room.

My money was on my women.

He'd taken me to the club where we'd first met.

It was a super sweet gesture and super packed. I'm glad I'd run into him almost a year ago when the club was still unknown. I'd probably never met him otherwise. Ladies accompanied and unaccompanied draped themselves everywhere.

Luca had laughed out loud when I asked if they were whores, apparently not. Some of them sure acted like it until they saw my belly hid under the table.

He'd gotten us a booth so I could cuddle and lean up against him. This was perfect. I was so tired of being cooped up in that beautiful cage. It was still so unfinished and my mind and hands couldn't stay off of the never ending list of things that needed to be done.

"You are awfully fidgety tonight, Tesoro." His comment about me moving around to get comfortable was true. I couldn't get comfortable, I could hardly breath on a normal day now that the twins dropped. Stupid lighting pains in my hips.

"I can't get comfortable. Ah. " I gripped his hand and the table trying to pull myself up. He was sitting up straighter too watching every little facial expression I had with concern.

"Do we need to go home?" He asked, sounding like it was more of a strong suggestion than a question. I didn't want to go back home and lay in bed staring at the same walls I have been staring at for weeks.

"No, I'm loving the music, and it's where we first met, it's a nice night. I'm just tight and uncomfortable." I really didn't want to leave. This was such a special date night out. I knew once the twin were born it would be harder to get out and harder to want to leave them.

"How far along are you now?" I didn't like his question. I knew where this was going.

"Eight months give or take. Why?" I batted my amber eyes at him daring him to finish his thought out loud. I wasn't leaving unless these babies were coming.

"Just doing math." He commented trying to remain calm and neutral.

"Nothing is going to happen." I shook my blonde head partially annoyed by his line of questioning. He was a good man and he was going to be an excellent father, if he lived that long. I hated how aggressive I was getting.

"Famous last words Care, come on. I got a feeling." He slid out of the booth and stood offering me his hand. I mouthed no and crossed my arms around my chest.

I didn't want to leave. I'm sure it will pass.

"Luca, I'm not going anywhere." I said ready to fight. JUst then I grabbed the table as I felt a gush of fluid.

"I think my water just broke." I smiled up at him. His jaw was set tight but I saw the twinkle of amusement in his green eyes.

"Yeah we are going Baby, we're going to the hospital. First I'm hailing a taxi and calling my mother." I nodded meekly.

These kids had timing.
