The night had grown colder as Rani stood at the edge of the forest, her heart beating with confusion, anger, and a painful sense of betrayal. The man from the past had just walked into their lives, and his cryptic words echoed in her ears. She was at a crossroads, torn between the men she loved and the truths that were slowly coming to light. Every moment felt like a storm waiting to break, a storm of emotions, secrets, and broken promises.
As she stood silently, the sound of approaching footsteps broke the quiet. She turned, expecting to see one of her husbands. But instead, her eyes met the gaze of Yudhishthir*, his expression unreadable, as though he were battling a war inside himself.
"Rani," he whispered, his voice strained, yet gentle. "You need to understand something."
Rani’s heart twisted. She knew that tone. It was the same tone they all used when they were about to confess something they could no longer hide. Her breath caught in her throat as she took a step back. "What do you mean?" Her voice trembled, unsure whether she wanted to know the truth or remain in her ignorance.
Yudhishthir’s eyes softened as he stepped closer. "You’ve always known there was something more to our past. To what happened between us. But the truth, Rani, it’s darker than you think. We’ve all been running from it."
Before Rani could respond, Karn appeared beside Yudhishthir, his presence as commanding as ever. His eyes held a mixture of guilt and longing, but also a quiet strength that made Rani's heart ache. "Rani," he said, his voice heavy with emotion. "I can’t promise you that everything will be okay, but I can promise you that we will face this together. You’re not alone."
Rani looked at them both, her mind racing. The storm of emotions that had been brewing inside her finally broke. "How can you say that?" she asked, her voice rising. "How can you claim to protect me, when your secrets are tearing us apart? You’re all hiding something. And I don’t know how much more I can take."
Bheem stepped forward then, his expression hard. "Rani," he said, his voice filled with regret, "We’ve hurt you. And I can’t take back what I’ve done. But I swear to you, I never wanted this. I never wanted to see you like this."
Arjun was the next to speak, his voice tight, yet filled with sincerity. "I was a fool, Rani. I should have told you everything. I should have been honest with you from the start. But I thought I could protect you from the darkness we all carry. I thought I could shield you from the past that haunts us."
Nakul stood slightly behind, his expression full of anger and guilt. "You think we don’t know we’ve hurt you?" His words were sharp, but his eyes betrayed him. "We were selfish, all of us. We didn’t realize how much it would tear us apart. I didn’t know that it would tear *you* apart too."
Rani's heart clenched. She wanted to scream, to lash out at them, but she felt helpless. Sahadev moved closer, his gaze filled with understanding. "Rani, we’ve been through so much, all of us. But we can’t keep running from what’s true. The man you saw earlier... he’s not just a stranger to us. He’s someone from our past. Someone we thought we had left behind."
