The air in the village was heavy that evening, as if nature itself anticipated the storm brewing in Rani’s life. The world seemed to hold its breath, and for the first time in years, Rani felt a chill run down her spine as she tucked Yudhav and Ashwin into bed.

Her sons’ innocence gave her strength, but as she closed the door to their room and sat by the window, staring at the starry sky, a deep sense of unease gnawed at her. She clasped her hands together, whispering a prayer to the one constant in her life—her Lord Krishna.

As the night deepened, the village was engulfed in silence, broken only by the soft rustle of the trees

As the night deepened, the village was engulfed in silence, broken only by the soft rustle of the trees. But then, a strange glow lit the horizon, soft and golden, as if the stars themselves had descended to the earth. The animals, usually restless at night, stilled, bowing their heads toward the light.

Rani stepped outside, her heart racing. She shielded her eyes as the glow grew brighter, and then, from within the light, a figure emerged.

Draped in radiant yellow silk, with a peacock feather adorning his crown and a flute resting lightly in his hand, Lord Krishna stood before her. His presence was both calming and overwhelming, as if the universe itself had come to a standstill in his honor.

Rani dropped to her knees, tears streaming down her face. "Madhav... Sakha... you came."

Krishna smiled, his eyes twinkling with the infinite love he held for her. "How could I not, Sakhi? When the heart of my dearest friend is troubled, how can I stay away?"

Krishna helped her rise, his touch gentle yet grounding. "You’ve carried so much pain, Rani. You’ve faced betrayal, heartbreak, and the weight of choices no one should bear alone. But you’ve forgotten that you are never truly alone."

Rani shook her head, her voice trembling. "Madhav, I am tired. I left my husbands because I thought it was the right thing to do. I thought I was protecting them. But every day, I am haunted by the guilt of abandoning them. And now, this dark figure... I fear for my children, for Dushala, for Agastya. I don’t know what to do."
