"So you're pregnant again?" Uriah asked and I nod, but I'm quickly pulled into a hug by Connor.
"This is great! Im so happy for you Kraven. How does Eric feel about it?"
"He is excited." I told him, "we are both really excited to be parents, but as you could imagine, I'm on an extremely tight leash this time."
"I'm just excited to be an aunt and spoil the little shit." Lynn makes me laugh and Marlene shakes her head while giving her a fake glare before commenting.
"I'm sure the kid is going to be well behaved."
"Well yeah! With Eric as a dad, they won't get away with much."
We continued our conversation until Eric walked up to us.
"Kraven, are you ready?" Zac stood behind him and I knew we were going to the roof to greet the new initiates. Obviously I wouldn't be able to do the physical training with them but I was going to be in charge of them alongside Eric. Four would again be the transfer trainer and Lauren would take over the Dauntless born.
As we head towards the roof I couldn't help but pray that Penelope would be up there. I wanted her to be here so Eric would have part of his family and also so our baby would have an Aunt. She was a sweet girl and I was hoping for the chance to get to know her better.
When Zac walked further infront, it gave me the chance to talk to Eric.
"I hope she picked Dauntless." I whisper to him and he continues to look straight ahead. He already put up his guard for the initiates, I wasn't going to get any real feelings out of now.
"She would have chosen whatever was right for her." His voice stern and I couldn't help but roll my eyes, keeping my response to myself.I stand on the ground by Eric's side and watch as the initiates jump from the train onto the roof. I can't help but grin when I spot Penelope. I quickly remember I'm supposed to act like a leader, so the smile slips from my lips and I replace it with a hard look.
The initiates formed a group in front of us and Eric started on his spiel.
"I'm Eric. One of your leaders. This is the way into Dauntless..."
"He is cute." I heard a candor girl whisper and I sent her a death look.
"If you can't jump, then you're not Dauntless. Someone's gotta go first."
It was quite for a minute until Penelope moved to the front. Eric moved off the ledge and watched as he sister climbed up. She spared a look at me and I gave her an encouraging nod.I couldn't help but be annoyed with the candor girl. She didn't keep her comments about my husband to herself.
The initiates had already been split between Dauntless born and transfers. I was sitting with Four and Lynn in the rec when the initiates came in, some sitting next to us.
They gossiped but we sat quietly, listening to their words and sizing them up.
"So what do you think about Eric?" The Candor asked and my ears perked up.
"I don't know Tasha, I saw a ring on his finger." Some other transfer said.
"Carrie, It's just a ring. I'm sure he doesn't care, it's Dauntless after all." She had an attitude and I could already tell that she thought she was above everyone else.
Four catches my attention and shakes his head.
"But he looks like he could have anyone he wants..." She drifts off and as I'm about to say something, I feel a hand on my shoulder.
"Are you done?" It was Eric. I smile up at him and nod. He offers his hand so I take it. I look to the transfer as we walk by.
"By the way. His ring does mean something. So keep your distance." I warn her and her eyes go wide with a fear. I can see Eric smirk at me and he gives my hand a slight squeeze.
When we got back to the apartment he locked the door and pushed me against the wall. His hand caressed my jaw and I could see in his eyes that he wanted me.
"You don't like girls looking at what's yours. Do you?" He asked and I shook my head.
"No. I don't."
His kisses led us to the bedroom, I'll leave it at that."Did you get to talk to Penelope at all?" I asked as my head laid on Eric's bare chest.
"No. But we won't be able to talk to her one on one for a while. The other initiates can't know she is my sister. If they did, they would have it out for her."
"I guess that's true. We don't want that. How do you think she will do?" I looked up at him the best I could from my position. If he was worried, he wasn't showing it.
"She will be fine. She has us to guide her through it. I'll make sure she passes."
I knew he would to. There was no way we would let anything happen to her.The next day I was walking down a hall when I ran into Penelope and some other girl I didn't know.
"Initiate. I need to speak to you alone." I told her and gave the other girl a strong look, she hurried off. "How are you doing?" I asked her in a much softer voice.
"I'm ok. Still processing everything. There are some real jerks in the transfers."
"Just watch your back and try your hardest. No one can know you are his sister. It would put a target on your back. Understand?"
"Absolutely." She was happy to see me. I could tell. But she was also nervous and a little scared.
These next few months were going to be exciting.Authors note
